Willis and Justin Smith you have to conclude are locks for sure. Vernon Davis definitely should be in there especially after killing in the playoffs, but you never know because his season stats weren't entirely impressive. Frank Gore also should be in there like you said with guys like Willis McGahee ahead of him. So yeah you would think that it has to be those four. However there could be a possibility Alex Smith, Aldon Smith, and Dashon Goldson could have made the list, although I think they would have already appeared if they were on the list. You could argue for Alex Smith since he was 7th in qb rating, was the qb on a team that went to NFC championship game and you have Tebow on the list.

I was thinking the same thing about Vernon but I'd have a hard time believing that opposing NFL players don't acknowledge he's one of the best players in the league.

I don't think I could argue that Alex Smith belongs on this list at this point. There are two many very good players at their positions out their. Even from our own team I would say Brown, Iupati, MacDonald, Brooks and Whitner all are better players at their positions than Alex Smith. And since this is a players vote you'd have to consider how many of those types of players from he other 32 teams in the NFL have more respect than Alex Smith league wide, its probably alot.
Obviously he is one of the 32 most vital players in the NFL because he is a starting QB, but to say he is one of the 100 best overall players in the entire league just sounds kind of funny to me.

I think Smith would have needed a super bowl victory to crack the Top 100, and most likely will need one if he is to ever crack it.

FYI: Giants fans have been bit**** that Eli wasn't even on the list last year.....

Dont forget its on tonight. I expect Willis and J.Smith to make their debut tonight.

Willis will be in the top 20

Top 10.

No way.....you guys are way overrating them. Beason, Ryans, Cushing and maybe McClain are easily as good as Willis. They just dont have the supporting cast. I say he shows up in this bunch. Book it!!
vernon, j smith, gore, willis.. remaining 4

you think willis will crack top 10??? i don't know.. maybe if he had a year like bowman did

Bowman had more tackles but Willis still had the better overall year.

I knew he was kidding when he said No.
No team would take any of those guys over Willis.
Darren McFadden only had 113 carries this year yet jumped 38 spots
Vilma 58 when Bowman is 85? Come on, Bowman is a much better LB then Vilma is

It's a joke. First Team All Pro as a 23 year old 1st year starter. Only 30 guys make the 1st team All Pro team yet this guy is 85. It makes no sense. Especially because it's the top players of 2012. He will be a 24 year old 2nd year starter in 2012 (so you gotta assume he'll be even better) as opposed to a 23 year old 1st year starter where even still he was a first team All Pro.

The only logical reason I can think of is that only 14 teams in the league have had to play against Bo so far so a lot of players have no way of knowing firsthand how great he is. But then again only 13 teams had played against Suh when he was way higher than 85 last year...

WOW, Von Miller makes it, and I bet Aldon didn't, who had a better season then Von. I wonder if Cam Newton made it? would make 4 rooks, and how the hell is Patrick Peterson a top 100 player? He was a Returner primarily and not a CB.

Agreed, a big joke of a list. Peterson who played returner more than CB is on top 100, Von Miller had less Sacks, and is on list. And I suspect no Aldon.

thats good it just means more motivation for Aldon.
They said only 4 rookies made it. AJ Green, Peterson, Miller, and the last one is gonna Cam Newton.
That's some bullshieeet how the f**k they gonna leave Aldon Smith off the list

Imagine if they ranked Aldon higher than Von Miller, that would be great. I just don't see how they could leave Aldon off the list completely. But somehow they put Vilma above Bowman so all bets are off.
