I just read an article stating that Brett Favre is open to the idea of coaching up Cam Newton. Cam Newton might have two Hall Of Famers working with him to speed up his learning curve. They must see something really special in Cam to put this much effort into him.

I found this interesting, due to the fact that Favre did not want to help bring along Rodgers, but is willing to help out Cam?

I want to hear your thoughts on this....

He didn't want to help Rodgers because he knew Rodgers was going to take over for him. Cam isn't taking Favre's spot on the roster.

He could learn a lot from Brett like Aaron did (whom Favre was reluctant at first to mentor but eventually came around).

Hope Brett does help Cam.

I highly doubt Aaron Rodgers learned much of anything from Brett Favre. It was McCarthy that taught him while he was holding the clipboard.

Watching how a HOF QB practices and prepares each and every week, how he interacts and deals with teammates, coaches and the media both on and off the field, sitting in meeting rooms and film study with Brett.....yeah I'm sure there wasn't much to learn from Brett.

Yup he learned from Brett and had an ideal situation to develop in. Some of it was him and some was the environment he was brought along in. Both work together.

Helping Rodgers was helping his replacement. Helping Cam is about just helping Cam. He has no threat of losign his job to Cam. Maybe we will see more of this as he gets stable in his retirement.

Nah it's all effort to keep his name on peoples lips.
Wow, putting two egomaniacs together..
If Cam succeeds, then Panthers made the right choice. If he doesn't, he should be compared to JMR as possibly the biggest QB bust in history. Help from several QBs (two proven: Favre and Moon and one not proven: Dorsey) leaves no excuse if he fails. Gotta give him a few years though, then we'll see.
