3) The RIVALRY: What better way for pete carroll to stick it to a rival coach, than to draft his star pupil

I hope I'm wrong guys and that they win just enough games ( no more than 4...lol) to lose the LUCK sweepstakes

We have Harbaugh, if Harbaugh groomed luck, Im sure he can pick lucks flaws as well.

There will be a learning curve for luck, its not like Peyton Manning and Brady came in winning SB's.

Yes it's going to be like the bucs winning the superbowl against the raiders. He will be destroyed!
youre probably giving the seahawks too much credit. i think its much more likely they just made bad picks, not crafted this precise, ingenious plan to throw the regular season and get a franchise QB the next year.

for all we know Luck blows out his knee between now and next years draft. seattle just won the division and beat the Saints in the first round. i doubt theyre going to throw the season just for a QB who may or may not end up a superstar.

besides, you can throw the 2011 season without making horrible draft picks. pick GOOD players, then sit them all season and say theyre still "learning". then you didnt screw yourself in the long run.

9-11, Bin Laden, and now.....the Seachicken conspiracy theorist. Carrol does that and no player with a winning attitude is going to want to play for him.

Plus there is two flaws in your theory, another team could do worse or luck could pull an Elway/Manning. His father Oliver Luck was a big reason why the young Luck stayed in school and will have a big say as to what is good for his son.

In fact it is more likely that Luck will demand to be traded to the 49ers to reunite with his coach than it is that chickens are tanking it.

after doing some research on Kaepernick, id like to see how he develops this season before we start thinking about Luck...im not saying i wouldnt rather have Luck, but Kap has all the talent in the world. lets see what Harbaugh can do with it first.

and like i said, its a horrible conspiracy theory because drafting bad players makes no sense. draft GOOD players and dont play them next year. rookie rarely make an impact anyways.

besides, go back and look at some past drafts. theres plenty of pro bowl caliber players that went much later than the 1st round. if the guy Seattle picked ends up being a great player, whether or not he was a reach on draft day isnt going to matter.

Tanking it.

Just not on purpose.

Oh. Snap.

It's pretty hard to tank the NFC West when they won it with a 7-9 record last year.........

Really?! b*****ds
they want luck bad. carrolll wants to beat harbaugh with his own college qb..rub it in his face.
Honestly, I think the division will be competitive this year -- outside of the Seahawks.

You never know, the guys they did pick could contribute, but if Hasselbeck isn't back and/or can't stay healthy -- I don't think Whitehurst is going to take them anywhere.

They did very little to fix their horrific secondary and I think they'll finish last in the NFC West this year. The Cardinals put in some really nice pieces, they're still incomplete because they didn't get any OL help, but what they did get in the draft should help them substantially. Laying it all out:

-Cardinals will have a three-headed RB attack with Ryan Williams, Wells, and Hightower/Stephens-Howling.

-Obviously they've got Fitz and they added DeMarco Sampson from SDSU (1000+ yard receiver there).

-Peterson and Rodgers-Cromartie are going to be a nice tandem at CB.

-If last year's first rounder Dan Williams improves, they'll have a nice looking DL with a healed Dockett, Calais Campbell, and rookie David Carter from UCLA.

-Sturdivant and Daryl Washington (last year's 2nd rounder) make a nice rotation at ILB.

-While Clark Haggans and Joey Porter are at the ends of their careers, the Cards got a nice pass-rushing prospect in Sam Acho, and last year O'Brien Schofield who was still recovering from his knee injury he suffered in the Senior Bowl. Those two I believe are going to be good players.

Putting it all together, I would not underestimate Arizona, especially if they can get someone half decent at QB.

As we have all witnessed the last handful of years, if you don't have a great QB, you do not have a competitive team. As of yet, the Cards have no one worth even snapping the ball.
