Is Jeff Maehl still on the board?
He was a WR prospect I really liked.
Maybe we can get him as an undrafted rookie, if that ever happens....

I'm going to try so hard to hate this pick. I'll let you all know about it.

Did anyone draft Tyrod Taylor?
I'd like to see Taylor, Froman, or Devlin with one of last picks.

I dont really understand some of the later picks. Personally, I already feel we have a bunch of projects at Saftey and CB position. Yet we take a guy who has only played 7 games at corner in the 3rd, a white guy at saftey that was unknown until he was accidently discovered at a pro day workout and a DE that will be a fullback. Not totally sure where they are going with this? What about Reggie Smith, Taylor Mays, Curtis Taylor, T.Brown?

I have no idea what the 49ers are doing in this draft -- I don't really see any set plan. But for reference.. here are the best players available at positions we need.
I'm lost now too. I was all Capt.49er, until the Miller pick. Now I'm just lost.
To the bridge-jumpers who seem to be freaking out over a 7th-round pick, here's how I understand the draft:
Needs and Responses:
1. Passrusher with high ceiling: Aldon Smith, check.
2. QB prospect with high ceiling: Kaepernick, check
3. DB with speed, KR: Culliver, OK, that one seems a little sketchy but we'll see.
4. Backup change of pace RB: K Hunter, check. Incredible steal.
5. OG to challenge under-achieving Rachal/backup center: Kilgore, check.
6. WR depth, stretch-the-field guy: R Johnson, check.
7. Special teams depth, speed: Colin Jones, 4.38, check
8. FB: Miller, OK, that one seems shaky but not worth a bridge-jump
9. NT depth: missing so far
Seems like they had a plan: high ceiling guys, with speed, coachable, good attitudes, good character, and they followed the plan.
Now assuming there is FA, we need a CB (Nnamdi!) and NT depth, and of course a vet QB. Not that much to ask. Great draft, imo.
