We lost a large part of our identity once McDonald couldn't step in and duplicate Walker's value.

Your off in the reeds here. Roman used plenty of gimmicky formations. Not just 2 te.

Loving this presser. Harbaugh is a f**king boss.

He's only said Bo Schemblacher 35 times already.

Better then Jed York saying Bill Walsh 60 times.

Jim knows what he's doing. He said "Bill Walsh" 35 times in his presser with us too.

Well, lets be fare.... You can never say "Bill Walsh" enough.

I'm wondering when we'll read the story where he found old films of Bo's offense and scheme documentation and they're now sitting up at night marveling and studying the films....

While the rest of us wonder how many times to you have to see the same ten plays...

As this presser goes on, i cant help but ask myself "Why couldnt Jim be this charismatic with the NFL media?" He is doing a fantastic job here.

this is an introductory presser. he was this enthusiastic when the 49ers introduced him in his first presser here.

Former San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh will average about $5 million per year with the University of Michigan, not the previously reported $8 million per year. He will be able to earn more based on incentives.

So it is basically nearly the same contract that he had with the 49ers.

This is information comes from Jim Hackett, the University of Michigan athletic director.

It appears that Harbaugh wants to be the Michigan coach more than he wants to be an NFL coach.

I would bet that Oakland would have given him more $ to coach in Oakland.

A small, but vocal minority of posters almost seem to be trying to convince themselves that everything is going to be okay.

As a fan, I hope so.

But like I said, I've seen this movie before.

Eddie did eventually fire Seifert (he actually resigned)...but he had a successor lined up from the start. It was a risky move...but Eddie didn't apologize and made the tough choice.

Then the Yorks canned Mooch...and things were handled diffferently. It would change the course of the franchise for close to a decade.

Now here we are again....they fired the coach. And they don't know who the successor is.

If you think the franchise is being run the same way as Eddie would have done it, you are fooling yourself.

It's totally irrational to expect that we'll go straight back into the Salary Cap Hell days and dark days b/c of a coaching change esp. when the entire coaching staff is still intact and the talent is still here with much more to come.

Please explain in detail how and why you think (evidence) we'll be heading backwards?

PS: Love how Harbaugh is suddenly charming and funny, happy, etc. in this presser. It's an act. He's not getting a single tough question from the media like in SF.

i thought the org. contract was 6 years at 41 million. So he did take less money to coach a college football team.

It was reported that the Raiders offered him more $. This clearly WAS a mutual decision to move on. This minority Pro-Harbaugh group just lost their only argument to support their anger directed at the FO...that our FO was too cheap to sign Harbaugh long term.
