that's all they've done is tamper. and are getting away with it.
I wonder if the Niners could claim that the Browns should be on the hook for some of his salary for driving his price up. OTOH the NFL hates the Niners so nothing will happen.

I don't think so. Things are overblown by the media. Everyone at 4949 knows Jim and how he is and they deal with him just fine I'm sure. Aside from that I don't think Jim is half as crazy ad he is made out to be

Agree! Many coaches and GMs have issues with each other but if they divide the labor effectively and stay off each other's shoes there doesn't have to be a real problem. Money generally talks and JH is due to make good money over the next couple of years. He's not going to jeopardize that on a whim or a tizzy.

I think this crap is being overblown big time. I blame the dysfunction of Cleveland for causing this mess. They should of denied that s**t also and kept it to themselves. What do you think their new head coach thinks?

"Oh, i was not these a*****es' first choice, they wanted Harbaugh."
I really think the Niners are going to keep doing things at their own pace. The media and the fanbase might be freaking out that the sky is falling but as we can see, Dahl took a paycut and Baldwin. They are close to resigning Boldin. Then they will probably work on Whitner or Kap. Harbaugh's extention probably won't happen till the summer. We will just move on, business as always and not care about the noise.

Fans that are trying to convince themselves this is "blown out of proportion" are probably wrong. None of us really have an exact idea of what happened, but can we all see that Harbs is a control freak? Also, he has a big ass ego. I love him as our coach, but I can see it being hard to work with him. And I could see him being really pissed off about the contract situation. This s**t is plausable. I think Jed and the rest of the front office are making sure Harbs knows that one man can't run over the organization. Even if he is one of the best head coaches in the league.

I think its the opposite. Fans that are blowing this out of proportion are wrong. They are taking obscure statements and people's opinions and painting a picture that our front office is in chaos and turmoil. Maybe its, i dunno, just a contract negotiation? Remember when Crabtree held out? Same overraction about Crabs and our F/O.

At the same time of all these reports of dysfunction, we are negotiating with Boldin, Whitner, Kap, and we trimmed the cap with Dahl's pay cut. Plus, the niners, York, and Harbaugh all denied it.

Who should we believe? Lame ass bloggers and the owner of one of the most poorly managed franchises, or the latter?

You know with all these reports about Baalke and Harbaugh not getting a long, from all we know these two are like this behind close doors lol.

Exactly. The team is at the combine as well and looks like they are working hard. I'm happy they aren't TMZ driven like some of our fans seem to be.

Team Baalke vs Team Harbaugh.

Which side are YOU on?

Team Harbaugh. I hope Jed York realizes the biggest reason Seattle won the Superbowl and will continue to be a major pain for the Niners is because Seattle's GM, John Scheider, is WAY better than Ballke. Go look at the at his draft record and see how any late round picks he hit on that became stars/starters: Sherman, Chancellor, Malcolm Smith, Thurmond, etc. He traded for Lynch and Harvin and constructed very creative deals to get pass rushers Bennett and Avril. He was the one that sold P. Carroll on Russell Wilson. His 2010, 2011 and 2012 were all great or good drafts. Compare the track record to Baalke , his only good draft was 2011, and QB he wanted in that draft was Dalton, not Kap, he gave the final say to Harbaugh on that one. I believe the most important reason we are not Super Bowl champs is Ballke continue to miss WR prospects and more importantly he missed badly on 2013 second rounders T. Carrdine and Vance McDonald, he should stayed put at the top of second around and drafted Zach Ertz who already knows Harbaugh's offense from Stanford and have contributed right away instead being cute and move down. We end up with T. Carrdine who doesn't play all year and later in the second he drafts McDonald who many scouts said has suspect hands and is just not natural pass catcher. Imagine if Ballke draftedthe local guys Ertz and Kennan Allen from Cal instead of "the Tank" and McDonald. Our offense and red zone offense would be a lot better and we may well have won one of CAR or NO games with contributions from Ertz and Allen, the NFC Championship game would be at home, we would win and beat Denver. Even if the game is still at Seattle, Kap would have more legitmate options on offense and more good red zones options on the final say and we would also likely win.

Really Hope Jed realizes he can a definitely find a better GM than Ballke (with only one good draft) and it will be difficult for him to hire a coach as good as Harbaugh.
Also believe Ballke's ego is being under reported by the media, his feud with Harbaugh droves away from good players like Zach Ertz and he had to justify his selection of Vance McDonald he saying he plays in a complicated system in a radio interview. Clearly trying to blame Harbaugh to cover up his own mistake.

That should help Joe Philbin sleep at night. According to Cole, the "rumor was already out there," and "only got stronger this weekend." Cole's report runs concurrent to one from CSN Bay Area's Matt Maiocco, who passed along Monday that the "feeling within the organization is that Harbaugh is not going to be a 10-year coach with the 49ers." San Francisco has re-emerged as one of the league's elite franchises, but it's got a serious issue on its hands.

Well said. Baalke is good at drafting defenders but has really hurt us drafting at the "skill" position.
Dear Jed,

Do you remember the 2004-2010 seasons? Failing miserably with Erickson, Failing with Nolan, and no improvement with Singletary? 0 playoffs in 8 consecutive seasons.

Insert Harbaugh 2011. He turned a 7-9/8-8 team to a 13-3 division winner and a home playoff NFC championship game, and did it with 18 of 22 returning starters from the Singletary team.

I will take a power house coached team that has played in NFC championship games in 3 out of 3 seasons, with room for improvement and a "possible dynasty" than go back to the mediocre coaching and consecutive playoff droughts.

PAY Harbaugh!

Thanks,

Tristan J. Fontaine

P.S

TEAM HARBAUGH! AND I know he still hasn't won the big game, but coming from what we had, id say he deserves MUCH credit!! I would gamble my chips and give Harbaugh more power if it came from choosing between Harbaugh and Baalke. Similar to what Phil Jackson wanted with the Lakers, not to get off topic.

Is this a Seattle fan pretending to be a Niner fan?

"One good draft"? More like "One BAD draft".

2010: Davis, Iupati, and Bowman. 2011: Aldon, Kaep, Culliver, Hunter, Kilgore, and Miller. 2013: Reid, McDonald, and Patton. We will see on Tank and Lattimore but those guys were taken where they were BECAUSE they were injured.

I give the Seahawks credit because they've had some great years here...

...but lets not undersell Baalke.
Team Harbaugh

Although, I do believe this is all just leveraging and that we'll get Coach on a long term deal soon enough.

I don't think Baalke is better but at the same time, Baalke has missed the boat badly on some players. AJ Jenkins was one of the worst draft picks in 49er history.
This is a stupid headline "Niners won't beg Coach to stay". Why should they beg him to do anything? These guys in the front office and the coaching staff are all professionals, they shouldn't have to beg one another or anyone for that matter to do this or do that. That's a dumbass headline to write.
