Sorry, Harbaugh-bashers. He's not going anywhere. You're just going to have to live with your bitterness.

good job york,, you deny it and now you fudge and say there was contact. the coverup is always more inept than the crime and this is a great example. why did he not just say it in the first place . I really thought when york took over we would not have the type of drama we had before he took over. If i were JH i would hit the road as it sounds like they do not want him. i still love this team but the things they do just make you wonder if they just go looking for trouble

Yep, it looks like York has now been forced to back peddle a bit from his initial statement. I wonder how much farther the will have to go.

I don't agree with this. It's semantics, but I think York was truthful.

He and Harbs said that the Florio report was wrong. It was. York did not say that there was NO contact, just that PFT's "spin" was wrong.

York then clarified via his comments to P King.
he should have not put himself in a position where he had to clarify his comments in the first place in my opinion

I understand. I see it differently. I don't think he needed to clarify his statement. Rather, he needed to clarify the misinterpretations that others had made.

this is from barrows most recent blog...

Harbaugh and agent David Dunn, however, are seeking to make him the highest-paid coach, something the 49ers are reluctant to fulfill until they win a Super Bowl.

IMO they should just pay the guy, hes one of the top in lthe league, coaches salaries dont count against the cap and we're entering a new stadium which will provide the team with a lot more revenue. even if you make him the highest paid, within the year another guy will pass him.

you do not pay super bowl money if you do not win a super bowl. i would not make him the highest paid coach in the nfl. if that is what he demands then you indeed cut ties with him in my opinion . now if you cut ties with him you do have to bring in a big name like gruden. when you are trying to sell out and pay for a new stadium after you just cut a popular coach,, you gotta make it a little easier to swallow for the fans and i think gruden would be the trick

I would go with David Shaw.

he's not leaving stanford

I think Harbaugh's replacement is already on the staff. And as much as it makes me puke a little inside, Shanahan is on the market, and would be an offensive upgrade in regards to a passing game......., and there's a stable of running backs.

Holmgren would be a good fit.
we have just come up with four replacements for JH if he goes. it would a disappointment if he left but not tragic

Yep, and two of them won a Superbowl.
any takers on a bet that the 9ers draft cam (if they allow one) will be eagerly watched this year.......

OH OH OH LOOK BAALKE AND HARBAUGH SPIT THEIR TOBACCO CHEW IN THE SAME COKE BOTTLE!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE BFF's AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

why does kap need Jim? jim isn't some offensive genius, we know that much

look at how play callers like chip kelly and marc trestman have simplified things for their entire offense

the 9ers like to drown their players in complexity and don't utilize talents of young players until they prove they have mastered that complexity

its worked so far but we should've won a superbowl

Sorry about that. It's probably time for me to avoid this conversation because from the beginning, I've thought it had very little to do with reality and it seems to have turned into a forum where certain fans can fantasize about a Niner team without one of the most successful coaches in franchise history and how fricking AWESOME that would be. So, I'll bow out of this thread and watch it all just blow over.

I would agree that York made a truthful initial statement within very narrow grounds and likely hoped that would be the end of it. When additional information came out, he had to make further clarification. Now he is hoping that he can stay with that and not get into the relationship between Harbaugh and Baalke.
