@MikeSilver Yeah, owners kept the "deal" for seven days. The players had seven minutes to agree to it. That seems fair to Jerry Richardson.

How have they kept it for seven days. Was this or was this not a negotiated deal between the parties. If not what the f**k did they do when they met for hours on end the past few weeks.

NO IT WAS NOT NEGOTIATED. As already pointed out, the owners RATIFIED THEIR OFFER WHICH THE PLAYERS SIDE HAVE NOT SEEN.

I just got home from work and there is too many pages to read so someone sum it up for me. Is the deal done or what?

Honestly I could care less about all that. They still gonna get paid millions

Not all.

99.9% of the players are going to make more than this entire board does in their lifetime to play a f**king game. I can't say I feel bad for them in the least.

See this is the problem. They see it as some PR campaign. These sides have talked for weeks now. Obviously the s**t they talked about should have been agreeable by both sides or were they just wasting time.

Exactly. Bunch of bulls**t to be honest. Oh "dont be fooled by the media." f**k you. What the hell were you guys doing the past 2 months? Just handshake on a deal in principle and get the ball on the road.

THEY HAVE NOT SEEN THE RATIFIED PROPOSALS. How can they agree on something that they have not seen?

- 98

exactly, i dont get it. De. Smith said in an email, they put stuff that wasnt agreed to, and wasnt in the agreement wednesday. So I dont blame them for not being happy.

And yet everyone is ready to crucify the players.

DUDE, really..... STOP.

Know what the heck you're talking about before you speak. ASSUMPTIONS is a bad thing when it's already being expressed by the players that they have NOT SEEN THE RATIFIED PROPOSALS THAT THE NFL PRESENTED since it's THE NFL'S OWN PROPOSALS THEY RATIFIED, NOT THE NFLPA'S!

1) How can they agree on something they have not seen?

I can see that but they can respond with something a bit more positive instead of basically, "we're not going to worry about fans perception..." and "dont be fooled by the media..." and "we're not just going to agree because of this timeline." There are ways of doing and saying things.

Quote:

2) If you were presented with a proposal, wouldn't you want to see how it differs from what you submitted to the other party?

True. But again...how far apart can they be at this point to where the players have to take such a douchebag stance?
Quote:

3) This is how negotiations work. Yes, they're taking their time but they have to to insure both sides are okay with the deal in place.

True as well but we were all under the (false) impression that "negotiations" were pretty much done and that they were just "crossing the 'i's and dotting the 't's." Players make it sound like..."oh this isnt what we wanted...the media is fooling you." You see how this can be irritating to the average fan?

Quote:

4) We know nothing of what's happening on both sides. We've waited this long, what's another month or two IF both sides can say that they are near the middle point.

LOL another month or two? Who the hell wants to wait until the END of September to get this done? At some point, the owners AND players have to let go of certain things and do whats best for the people that actually pay them...the FANS. In negotiations you never get 100% of what you want. Sounds like the players got a huge bulk of what they wanted. It's time to stop the bs and play football and actually EARN all this revenue they want to fight over.

Because it's a load of crap. Both sides were in the same room for like 2 months. They know excatly which each side wanted. To now say well we never saw this or that. Is hogwash and players know it!
This is Awesome

I don't think that's the case. Everyone's just ready for all this bulls**t to be over with and when there was an inkling it might happen, everyone got their hopes up and now are frustrated. The owners made a smart play.

That's because they generate more revenue than 99.9%of the people on this board. Who SHOULD get that money then?
