Thought I heard Maiocco say something about that previously, sounds like a good idea, specially for extra un-draftees trying to find practice squad jobs.

I think this will get done but I am looking at different sites and listening to sports radio and every report sounds contradicting. Kirk Morrison (Jacksonville Linebacker) was on San Diego Sports Radio and he said "don't believe anything you hear from the media. They make stuff up to keep you watching for good ratings." He also said "that the owners could agree to a new CBA but then the players would have to review the 500 page document before they sign." Can still happen but he thinks it will drag on a little longer, and that there is not enough time left in the day to review everything. LET'S JUST HOPE THAT HE'S WRONG...

He is an idiot who knows nothing about anything. Can you imagine having each team representative reading a 500 page document? These guys hardly have a college education. They probably can't even read Grapes of Wrath, so forget a 500 page legal contract. The players will sign off what their attorney will tell them is a good final deal. That's it.

Exactly, no player is going to sit down and read 500 pages. If so that would take them months on months to understand what is in there. It would take me months to understand what is in there.

I think the point is that someone will have to review the 500 page document. Probably multiple lawyers. I'm not agreeing with Morrison but he sounded like a smart guy and was trying to be realistic about the situation. There is alot to discuss after they get the agreement from the owners. Again I hope he's wrong but if I was betting on the situation I would go with the players dragging their feet and taking it till tomorrow before we do this all over again.
Jason LaCanfora: The team officials gathered in ATL for salary cap/management meetings informed no meetings today. Told be ready first thing Friday morning
Seems like the lunch break is dragging on, something tells me the lawyers are making a final push with the NFLPA before their conference call.
Jason LaCanfora: Lots of progress on settlement talks through the afternoon. Owners waiting on a deal to vote on in ATL, while lawyers from both sides and officials from both sides are working on issues of how/when NFLPA would recertify, and tying up a few other unresolved issues.
Judy Battista: RT @TomSilverstein: Source said he's been told agent fees for rookie contracts reduced from max of 3% to max of 2% as part of new deal.
boring
Ughh, this will run on into the night, both sides will break off, and we'll have to wait until tomorrow morning for the vote/full-re-certification.
i just want to f**king get an ESPN text saying lockout over, training camp resumes next week
Adam Schefter: De Smith and Roger Goodell have been on phone the past hour, trying to work out a way to lift lockout if both sides approve deal tonight.

Adam Schefter: NFL could open facilities as early as Friday so players can use them to discuss issue and sign union cards needed for recertification.

And I want Meagan Good to show up @ my doorstep, wearing only a silk rope and 6-inch stilettos, but I don't see either happening soon
Another day and still no CBA as far as I'm concerned.
