Rich Eisen made a good point.

During this entire lockout the players stuck to the PR line of "Hey, we just want to play football."

Now it is the players keeping the fans from football. Hypocrites.

The owners are banking on the fans recognizing that - will hopefully force the players' hand

yep great PR move by NFLN and Rich

i just read that Gene Upshaw use to do this to the owners.
I'm getting really worried now, thinking of Ray Lewis' warning of 'maniacal forbodance'.

If this s**t doesn't end by Monday there could be riots and angry-malaise, f**king Ghostbusters 2 style, with the pink slime flowing under the streets and s**t!
IGAF! The players are getting a good deal f**king make it happen and play some f**king football. I'm tired of waiting. This season to me is tanked for the 49ers.

Hearing 2 different things. On one hand: "It's getting done tonight." On the other: "Won't be done for 2 weeks."

So which is it and why the conflicting reports?

from everything i'm reading, the owners are ready to vote and aprove the new cba but the players are debating if they should recertify or not. if they do recertify the process could take two weeks(which imo is bs). i really hope it gets done 2day, but of course they have to make it dramatic.

Ugh..such BS man. In any case, it's a good "political" move by the owners. Make the fans turn on the players.

right now I'm kinda hoping the Players stick it to the owners. The owners have held the upper hand all summer but don't want to lose 1 pre-season week of revenue. It would be awesome if the players sit on this "finalization" for two weeks.

Why would you want that?

This season is f**ked. That is what pisses me off. We at the very least need a full training camp. Pushing it two weeks means we miss the start of our training camp.

f**k.

This is taking years off my life.

Salary cap is based on revenue, part of the whole 49% or 46.5% etc. I would think that missing those games would impact the players too.
This re-certify thing is bull as well. They have known for a few weeks now that things were heading towards a deal. If they just sat on that and haven't done any of the leg work to re-certify then they are purposely trying to delay stuff so that they don't have full training camp.

dkaplanSBJ: Told owners will vote on a global deal here today and essentially hand it off to the players to say sign or don't sign, this is it. This was the late Gene Upshaw's tack in 2006 when he was on a flight to Hawaii, leaving owners to either accept terms or reject. they accepted.

Unclear if some of the unresolved issues will be left open ended with commissioner having authority to resolve. These issues include the franchise tag, media fees case. I am not hearing right now the $320 M is an issue at the moment. We reported that in SBD this morning.

Quote:
Judy Battista: Was told owners will "vote and hope" today. Vote on settlement, hand off to players saying "here's the deal." A ton of pressure on players.

Judy Battista: Make no mistake, owners will not wait for tomorrow to vote. Many in the league are heading to Boston for Myra Kraft's funeral.

Jason LaCanfora: On the issue of NFLPA recertification, people I speak to believe that could be done in a matter of hours, not days. Shouldn't be big delay

JasonLaCanfora: The issue, of course, is reaching a point in this settlement when the NFLPA actually brings recertification to a vote.

lol f**k. You notice this guy says his sources or people. In reality he doesn't have anything except forming an opinion off of what he hears other real reporters say.
Judy Battista: One person says player lawyers still want $10 million per for Mankins and VJax. So litigation settlement not done yet.
