I gotta feel for Singletary here. The guy had this team playing some of the most inspired football I've seen since the Garcia/ Owens days last year and for whatever reason his managing skills just ran its course and the team just seemed to tune him out this year.

That being said, this was a move that had to be made. The team had embarrassed themselves on national TV multiple times this year and Singletary chewing out his players on the sidelines to try and get them to show him something just made me cringe and embarrassed as a Niners fan. That type of coaching never works in the long run and those coaches usually wear out their welcome sooner rather than later.

So, where do we go from here? I really don't know. I'd like to think York hires a great football mind to run this team, but based on recent history I have no reason to believe things will get any better under this ownership until I see otherwise with my own two eyes.

The bottom line is this: Singletary's coaching wasn't working anymore and he clearly lost this locker room weeks ago. He needed to go and the fact that the Yorks didn't even give him Week 17 tells me they made this decision weeks ago, and if that's the case then it made no sense to give him another week just because it would look better from a PR standpoint.

Hell yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

People worried about "showing class" to sing should remember he treated the media look fools and tried to stare them down and intimidate them if he didn't like the "uncomfortable" nature of their questions

Well maybe now you can all see the overall advantage of letting coach "single brain cell" hang himself with his own brand of inept coaching. It wasn't that we liked watching the Niners lose, but the payoff is greater than the playoff (this year). Next year and years to come under the right coach and administration, thats a different matter.
