Carson Palmer to the 49ers? SI's Peter King thinks so.

I don't think they will be able to get a very high pick for Palmer. He's looked terrible this year and everyone knows Cincy wants to dump him.
When Philly traded McNabb it was because they had other good QBs. But when you have no other good QBs and you want to trade your starter, that doesn't look real good to potential trading partners.
Plus, this last year young QBs like Bradford drastically out performed older vet QBs like McNabb. I think most teams would rather use a high pick to draft a QB.
Now, if the price gets down to something like a 4th or 5th, then I'd hope the niners take a look.

Really? Like who?
I would not give up anything for him unless he restructures his contract. He's not worth 11 or 12 million a year. But at the right price I would definitely take him. Which actually could work in our favor. Cincy can't keep him at his current price, so if he refuses to re-do his contract he can become a free agent. We could pick him up and retain our draft pick.

Palmer is not really very good the last few years. Honestly I don't think Alex is far off from him. The Bengals and Palmer are pretty bad. I don't see how he solves anything for us.

I rather keep Alex probably. Everyone's overrating Palmer on name alone. Last year they had a gnarly D and a beast running game. This year he's taken them out of a bunch of games with picks, he's got like 20 INTs on the season and a rating lower than Alex.

I wouldn't give a 2nd rounder for Carson Palmer even if it came with a free dick rub from his wife.

Probably Alex is better than him right now. Although nobody here will believe it.

I would rather resign Alex Smith than bring Carson Palmer in. Unless Cinci was just flat out giving him away for free.
