Has anyone seen Pats recent draft record? For the amount of picks they have had, they don't have more than couple of good starters from last few drafts. They have drafted as many busts as anyone in the last few years.

Making it even more remarkable. When you have a legit system in place and a legit coach, and quarterback they overcome some of those busts. You get a team without that structure and they can't overcome those bad picks. No surprise that the front office guys(Pioli, and Demitriof(sp)) that left the Pats have went to KC, and ATL. Both 4-2 teams leading there divisions and on the rise. That is what knowledgeable football guys do, and the Pats have a lot of them.

Whoah! Lets not get silly here.

The problem we have here is that we don't have enough football people in the front office. On top of that we have a GM who is a bit of an unknown and a head coach who didn't want to draft Patrick Willis.

I think the real issue with the 9ers is that there seems to be a lack of intelligence around the team. We have some playmakers and some real athletes but we don't have a high degree of intelligence I feel.

If you look at the Pats they draft QBs and turn them into WRs. They see the potential to exploit holes with a short slot receiver. They rotate RBs to ensure defences are never balanced.

As stated WE were the blueprint for that type of franchise and I think there are people out there that could bring it back.

I thought Bill Belichick had the final say over the draft and everything. Pioli was his personnel guy - but final say was with Bill Belichick over all the team moves.

Look, I understand that Pats got really lucky with Tom Brady. If they knew what he could do, they would have drafted him in 3rd or 4th round. I give them credit for drafting well earlier in the decade and what they did was - they drafted well in the trenches. You do that, and you get lucky with the QB - you have a team that can contend for the division every year.

As a coach, Belichick is a pretty damn good one. I give him credit there. But, if you want to talk about structure, they have one guy running the show. Other guys have titles but he has power over all of them. He has the final say in everything football related.

Majority of his assistants haven't found success anywhere. There aren't a lot of coaches like Bill Belichick - but let's not over-analyze the whole Pats have a great organization and structure.

Recently, they have drafted busts after busts, and the team they have today is good enough to have a winning record but they won't be winning Superbowl with this team.

The defense is average, running game is below average, and now with Randy Moss gone - they will have some tough time against good teams.

Welker is the key guy . WR come a dime a dozen. Moss was an added bonus cuz he was tall .

He used to be fast, but he's a loudmouth that disrupts team unity.That's why they let him go.

Wes WElker is the most overrated receiver in the league

He's already proven the past few weeks that he's not even remotely the same receiver without Moss drawing away the entire defense.
