You guys are crazy if you think he's better than Crabtree. The guy might be a better return man, sure, but he's NOT a better WR.

I liked him but I thought it would have been a huge risk. Basically, think of him on the same team with Crabtree. Could have been epic success or epic failure. Plus we had bigger needs than #2 WR (well, potential #1 later). The OL was in dire need and safety was also a bigger issue than WR.
I was surprised when he was the first to sign and for so little since he had the same agent and same group that Crabtree hung with. Plus I was surprised when he was that in shape and ready to go after being out most of the season.
I didn't think he was a risk at all. His attitude has always been good in college. Okay, so he lied - big deal. He didn't do anything criminal, he didn't do anything to his team-mates, and on Saturdays - he was one of the best WRs.
He was considered a more talented WR in college than Crabtree. He was as risky as picking Crabtree - who again - I thought was not much a risk or any more a risk than any other player in the draft.

Dallas did their homework on the guy....
Actually, it wasn't that surprising. If Bryant played the whole year, he would have gone 6-10 probably. And only that late because top 5 was pretty solid.
Had he played the whole year, I think he would have gone in top 5. He was def. one of the most talented player in the draft. Had Crabtree worked out, I think he would have gone in top 5 as well. Both of these guys are really really good and dominated college like few WRs. But yea, he had no business falling in the 20s.

He isn't worse than Crabtree as a WR. Both will be pretty damn good WRs

The opposite of how you had it. It's not close. Bryant is bigger, stronger, faster, more explosive, more energetic and he's not always pouting like some DIVA...
I can't believe we picked slow, non explosive, pouty Crabtree #10 and the Cowboys get this phenemonal athlete at #20 something in the draft...
when does he pout like a diva? Give me some concrete examples.

LOL.
~ He held out well into October because he wanted #1 pick money for being the #10 pick. Unprecidented in modern times.
~ He missed 8 out of 8 preseason games he's been eligible for in his 49ers career. Who needs practice or preseason?
~ He throws QB's under the bus with blame.
~ When asked about drops by reporters he says "what drops?"

What do you think of Elway or Eli Manning?
Secondly...how do you know how much money he was asking for? Any concrete proofs or just pure speculation?

Some people will forever hate the kid because he made the mistake of knowing he was better than DHB and wanted to be paid as such.

It's silly. We have different standards for how a QB should act and how a WR should act. Anyway, Crabtree and Dez Bryant may someday start in the Pro-Bowl together!

Dez Bryant will start in the Pro Bowl but Crabtree won't be there. Running 1 and only 1 route and running a 4.80 40 yard dash won't get it done. He only looks fast next to Morgan who runs a 4.95 40 yard dash.

I love Dez. I'm an OK State alum, so I got to watch him in college. In all honesty I can't say I'm surprised how well he's turned out, since I got to see him in college.
A lot of people think he's already better than Miles Austin, so he's obviously playing well.
We needed oline when we drafted him, but I don't regret the pick at all. It just goes to show the drafting BPA (best player available) is the best drafting strategy.

do you have a link for these "40" times? Oh and I would like proof that Crabtree can only run 1 route as well. So a link for that would be nice. If you can't provide links then you might want to stop posting your biased crap as fact.

put crabtree in dallas with an offensive mind like garrett and a better qb situation and crabtree will be getting all the love and numbers bryant gets. there hasnt been a team thats what 2-7 and gets more air time than the f**king dallas cowboys.crabtree is a media after thought in sf until we start winning damn games and become relevant

1) Have you ever seen Crabtree run another route? He only runs one. Left and right. But it's the same come back route.
2) As for Morgan he's the only starting WR in the NFL that is capable of having a 25 yard head start in the open field and getting caught from behind. I've never seen it happen to anybody else.
