Looks like its going to be the Niners and Cardinals in a race for......

a QB. How the mighty have fallen...

We will win the race, Cards already have a 2 game advantage. I don't see us being 2 games better then them to end the season. Our real competition is Buffalo, Cleveland, Oakland and maybe Carolina

I really am starting to like the idea of Andrew Luck and John Gruden. I am not really a fan of Ryan Mallet. He looks like he could be a Bledsoe-type at best, and a Derek Anderson-type at worst. I will pass...

Just let the college season play out and see if someone separates themselves from the crowd.

Agreed, but I am willing to bet that the Niners start winning meaningless games late in the season to take us out of the running for whoever might set themselves apart.

Which kinda sucks. Give me a 3-13 season with #1 pick over a 6-10 with the #6 pick

It's nice to see a 49ers fan who can see the value in a draft pick over the team winning actual games.

And, elsewhere in the NFC West. RT @kentsomers Max Hall will start at QB for the Cardinals on Sunday, according to source.

Who? HAHA

Don't laugh. He is a rookie, but the cards are very high on him.

With our luck he's gonna be a beast

Your logic is flawed........

You can not use the phrase "mighty have fallen" with the Tard and Niners in the same sentence

Tards are a flash in the pan.

Niners were kings of an era

But agreed both need QBs

Hey, me too!
The Cards already dumped their 1st overall bust and are actively searching for a replacement by trying different guys out. Why can't we be this smart?
Probably because the division is still winnable. Even if you are 0-4. 2 games down with 12 to go is not out of the question.

Shut up Hawks fan, it's ok to brag now! We deserve it

Because Singletary didn't want Alex Smith to get his feelings hurt.

It's really funny (and I'm not even on the Nate Davis wagon), but according to Mike Singletary (aka QB guru/offensive expert) Nate Davis has poor protection-adjustment skills (while being fed garbled plays from Jimmy Raye)... while Alex Smith couldn't even adjust an obvious LB-stunt on a game-winning 3rd and 4th against the Falcons.

And remember, this is the same guy (Singletary) who thought Patrick Willis was mediocre coming out of the draft until Sing was convinced solely by Willis' back-story that he'd be a good pick.
^Yea it's sad that we got suckered in by his speeches. I'm not gonna lie, I wasn't AGAINST making him HC because I was also drinking the kool-aid at the time.

But everything he's done so far this year has made him lose ALL credibility.

The fact that he removed all competition from the QB position and continually meddles with the offense (when he doesn't know sh!t about it) has been disgusting to witness. I can't wait for his ass to be canned (along with Smith) so we can move on from this sad era and hopefully salvage the talent on this team by making a playoff run next year.
Just our luck, the Cardinals are leading by 10 with a couple minutes left. The Saints are without Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush (we faced both of them), and their replacement Ladell Betts put it on the carpet in crunch time.
