Teams are going to Tee off the Hawks offense, they don't have the personnel to be productive AND protect Hass at the same time. It's a one or the other proposition for the Hawks...protect Hass and sacrifice production, or go for more production and risk getting him killed. It's become apparent that Whitehurst is not a good second option at QB at this point.... he is not ready, and he looked wild last night. I think the Hawks have realized that, hence, IMHO, the Hawks seem to have conceded that they are going to have to protect Hass above all else, doing whatever it takes to do so, including giving up on a running game if needed.



They are not going to be a good team this year. The defense is in bad shape too. The Vikes went 8/16 third down efficiency....50% against the Hawks D. The Hawks D have been 48% on average for the pre-season. Now, I think they will be scrappy at home week one in a very noisy home field environment and the niner's better prepared for that, but I really think if the niner's come and play mistake free football they will simply beat them up and take the win.

exactly the same thing i saw. the hawks are gonna be a bad team this yr point blank.
