If Anthony Davis got his feelings hurts by that...then I really don't have a whole lot of respect for him. I've heard worse from my high-school coach lol

Roman used a regular NFL term but he's not a regular nfl coach. He's a bum.

And your high school isn't a billion dollar enterprise hiring the best of the best in the world. His comment, to me, wasn't about his own lack of toughness, it's simply calling out Roman for what he is.

Clueless and out of his league

I think Roman should have been canned a while ago, but AD looks like an immature idiot with this. Playing some victim role. Idiot is a millionaire cause he blocks people 16 to 20 times a year.

Lol I don't think his tweet was meant to extract public sympathy. I think he meant what he said and if you read the subsequent tweet, it puts things in context.

I think he's simply saying this:

"Well aint it funny how a few years ago Greg Roman told me I'm replaceable and here he is in the hot seat himself?!....Ha! The IRONY!"

Also, to people saying this is a snake move....How do you know he didn't say these same things to Roman's face "like a man" and decided to air the MFer out in public too? It happens. When you don't like someone, you don't like em.

Fact is Anthony Davis isn't a really good football player. He's been hurt this year which is unfortunate but he's got every right to speak his mind. He's earned that right by simply being a human and also because he does his job pretty well. It's ridiculous and unreasonable to try to get every pro athlete to fit into our concepts of what is/isn't "classy".

Context Context Context... His following tweet was "The Irony". His purpose for mentioning Roman's quote wasn't to cry or seek sympathy, it was to rub it back in Roman's face and the face of any coach who makes these sort of "motivational" statements as if they are immune of being replaced themselves.

He was a rookie. Who gives a s**t. All rookies hear that kind of s**t. f**k kiddie gloves. Step up or you'll be replaced. That was the message.

Dude, negative motivation is a tool for the simple minded leader. Anybody that tries that style in a semi competant organization is going to face a sea of empty cubicles and an impending request for their resignation.... If they're lucky.

This isn't an office job. Those analogies don't work when comparing professional sports. That kind of s**t is the norm for the NFL. And it worked... that was Davis' rookie year. He came in with a reputation of being unmotivated and out of shape. Probably a good wake up call.

If my boss told me he could find someone off the streets to replace me i would tell em go ahead. And if that was the case i would ask why they pay me so much and why did they hire me in the first place.

Roman didn't hire Anthony Davis. Roman's job is to figure out who the best RT is for the 49ers.

What Roman said is exactly the kind of thing a young 1st round player needs to hear.

wasn't Davis drafted under singeltary

Yea, I saw both tweets. He was rubbing it in Roman's face because he got his feelings hurt when Roman told him that he's replaceable.

Never said he wasn't. I said, he was a young 1st round player. Again, exactly what a young 1st round player needs to hear.

The reason why so many 1st round players never reach their potential is because they think they were drafted in 1st round...paid millions of dollars and the team has heavily invested in them - so they can take it easy.

What Roman said is a fact of life in any professional sport. Players with great talent (like Anthony Davis) who realize this early on - usually have long successful careers.

Well...everyone is replaceable. I don't care for Roman - but his message is on spot.

....and 100% positive that JH will get paid more in his next contract. Can't say that about Anthony Davis with any certainty.

Yeah great way to instill confidence into a 20 year old rookie

If that will shatter a players confidence - then he isn't fit to be in the NFL.

...and he wasn't a rookie. Iupati and Davis were 1st round picks under Coach Sing.

What I will say with certainty about Anthony Davis is that his next contract will be one with the NFL.

As an 11th overall pick - not much of an achievement.

Man you ain't making sense here. Dude is accomplished for the point he is at in his career. You can't just get 11th overall talent off the street. You can't get a guy off the street that starts at T as a rookie every game he could dress every year he has played. You can't get Pro Bowl T off the street. And when his contract is coming to a conclusion barring injury a team will resign him in the NFL not the CFL not college football so that he can be kept off the street! He is better at life than Roman!

AD is such an impressive player. He really is the nasty anchor to our line. He's a perennial pro bowler an just a great player , but he's always been an immature A-hole. He never gets in trouble, never arrested an doesn't do bad stuff but he's so immature. Hes been this way since he got in the league. He is kinda harmless but it would be nice to see AD grow up goin into his prime.
