It is. Basically having a loose or torn ligament makes your knee "slide" on the joint. Your knee isn't as stable as it could. Remember, only three ligaments keep your knee together. If one is torn, it stresses the other ligaments and could further damage the ENTIRE knee structure.

You knew he wasn't really hurt but the reports are he tore his MCL.

Yup what a b***h, collapsing under the pressure, imagine had he played through the injury and caused further damage, like maybe tearing his ACL and perhaps damaging the meniscus and patella, which could be a career ender. Carson Palmer tore the ACL, MCL and suffered damage to the meniscus and patella and was close to suffering a career ending injury in one hit.

LT bruisied his MCL in 2008 and missed the rest of the game, with a bruise not a tear. Rivers also initially injured his knee in that game and couldn't come back either (he did play the next week and tore his ACL but he had minor surgery the week after the initial injury to the knee to be able play).

not all injuries are the same. I'm sure if he could play, he would have.
