Lew looks like a franchise center. He's athletic but has enough power to hold up against bigger DT's, outstanding awareness and has good experience against some top competition. If not for the ACL injury I think he'd be a lock to be a 1st round lock.
I am usually against any injury flag given our expereince, but I am desperate to replace Brendel. I saw some video on this kid and he looks awesome.

Not sure how serious Shanalynch are about grabbing a C high but I would not complain with any of the three above as they can be franchise centers and get Kyle off of freaking Brendel within the first year as they are already far better.
Any other center is gonna sit behind Brendel since Kyle has a crush on him for some reason
I wouldn't mind a flyer on Lew in the 2nd, but I know im dreaming. Lew can sit half a year or all year and we can move off Brendel tbh. I totally agree with the man crush Kyle has, Its insane.I see Lew going there on many mocks. Seems like rd 3 is when teams go for one.

Ehh....
I mean all of that is very similar to McG. Long light in the pants who can move with a "mean streak"
IMO it's not really hating on him, McG is a damn good RT. I would have to watch more, but I feel like he needs a better anchor and needs to get stronger. Kinda the same + & - that Mike had coming into the league.

But the guy that really has my attention right now is Kadyn Proctor. What a mammoth of a man. That's the type of athlete the 49ers' OL should be trending towards. The 49ers need to get bigger, meaner and way more physical. I need to check him out because that guy is built different.

Gennings Dunker is a perfect fit for KS. Moves inside to guard. Another Puni.
Everyone is looking for future LT, but Blake Miller is a great fit at RT.
I doubt we invest the draft capital needed, but Connor Lew is a non brainer. Easy fit.
I love Austin Barber. The athletic profile for zone, the tape in the SEC, the reps at the senior bowl. Looks like a future RT to me.
I like Brian Parker. Move inside to guard, but I dont think he is as pro ready as being credited. He needs to add some sand to his pants. Might be more of a jack of all trades guy where he can play backup guard, handle center reps, swing outside in a pinch if needed. 12 year NFL career, but not sure he is starting consistently. I've got him lower on my board than most, but would still welcome him if that makes sense.
JC Davis is my ideal developmental tackle prospect. His best reps remind me of Kelvin Banks. Just on year in the Big 10, so he probably needs time to work on technique and adjust to the speed of the NFL. Hopefully you get a swing tackle here. Has shown some guard flexibility and thats probably where the dust settles. He's likely your next Spencer Burford over your next Kelvin Banks, but if I were buying a lotto ticket in the 4th round for a future LT, I'd roll with him.
Trey Zuhn. Love this guy, dont know what to do with him. 4 year starter at tackle. Highest PFF grade ever at tackle, but the arm length and lateral speed will sabotage the tackle projection. Body type projects better to center than guard, though I dont really love the height in front of Purdy. I generally like my centers to have a 3.75 GPA and be a 4 time academic all conference. High IQ, high SAT, difficult major, high GPA. Not seeing that from Zuhn, but then hes a team captain, multiple team awards, and some coaches praising his IQ and photographic memory. So homework to be done here. A visit and a whiteboard will answer some questions. He's likely a one year project anyway to switch positions. Maybe gives you long term backup at 5 positions. His speed and demeanor will find him a home somewhere, just not sure hes a starter. But you might luck into a 10 year starter at center without spending much capital.

Proctor, Pregnon, Bisontis, Parker II are who I would target if prioritizing LG in round 2

we dont run the right scheme for him and he will have major trouble against speed rushers he had an issue in college against speed guys he will have a huge problem in NFL against him

The question isnt whether he has an issue vs speed, its why. I do not see a physical limitation to suggest he cant develop into a plus starter, including vs speed.
Id also argue he's scheme versatile. That said, you'd be ignoring his best traits if asked to play in a system with minimal zone concepts.
The one thing you cant coach out of him is his 6'7" height with long legs that can mess up his pad level from time to time. I also dont think you should expect him to step in and be an upgrade over McMivitz in year one. But i like him as a developmental tackle, right up there with Iheanachor, who also isnt ready to start from day 1

Are you talking about Proctor or Freeling?
In regards to the scheme, I'm hoping to see an evolution from Shanahan in the same way that McVay evolved. You can't continue to play the leverage and angle game with a light OL and fight for the perimeter against this Seattle defense. Their defensive line is way too strong at the point of attack, their LBs/Emmanwori are too damn fast and their DBs are ridiculously good at tackling and funneling things inside. I'd love to see Kyle do what McVay did and beef up the OL. Get bigger, nastier, more physical--stop trying to win the perimeter, get vertical and run the ball right down their throats. Punish them for staying in nickel in that lightbox. That's the key to unlocking their entire defense.

Pregnon might be one of the safest picks in the draft. Feels like he'd be an instant starter as a rookie.

Wonder if that was where he was going when taking Aaron Banks. Not sure that worked out so well for us but getting bigger could help a lot of ways. Give us a better chance to close games by running the ball.

It was Laken Tomlinson before that at 320. KS likes a beefy LG, but they have to be able to move laterally and run outside zone. That dramatically shortens the list.

Yeah I agree, set it and forget it. What's his draft projection?
