OL 2026 draft class discussion

I'd be very welcoming to getting a stud G/C with 27. Look at how much Zabel moved the needle for Seattle.

Just give us a great player at whatever position that sees the field consistently on offense or defense. If it's on the trenches - even better.

I want to move out of the first if that's the plan. 5th yr option or tag aren't options with a IOL.

Thoughts on a late pick on Isaiah World? Massive human who moves real well. Would have went much higher if not for the late season ACL. Red shirt him and develop him as the guy after Trent?

I dont think any of us would complain on using a 4th round flyer on World if he is there.

PFA, imo.

Interesting - you don't think he gets drafted. We will see. I'd rather take Travis Burke the OT from Memphis in the 4th anyways.

Yeah I wasn't thinking about using a 4th on World. If we traded down or got a later day 3 pick trading one of our LBers or something. I think Burke goes higher than a 4th

World has all the athletic tools so a redshirt makes sense for him. He is pretty bad from a technique standpoint though i mean he had a ridiculous amount of penalties so he needs to clean that up before seeing the field i wonder how much od that can be thought while in recovery/rehab

A guy that most people wouldn't have put on the 49ers radar.

Is Shanny cooking something up?

I like him

Lol, I don't want Proctor playing LT ever. If we want a LT, draft Iheanachor.

I truly think Proctor can be an all-pro if he's moved inside permanently, but everyone is so intrigued with him developing into an elite tackle one day, and I just don't see it. Put him next to Trent and give CMC 2 monsters to run behind on the left side. Next year, use the draft to replace Trent and let Proctor hold down LG for the next 5+ years.

I don't want a rookie LT starting regardless of name.

Judging by the top 30 visits, honestly seems like Lynch and Shanahan will take the BPA outta Tackle or WR @ 27. Edge seems to be the 2nd round pick judging by the top 30 visits.

Iheananchor
Lomu
Proctor

Cooper Jr.
Boston
Concepcion

Lawrence
Height
Barham

And if so ... I wish I could see their board on how they all rank in order combining the WR/OT

But remember we didnt visit at all with Pearsall no contact anywhere and that's who we wanted. So Im mentally prepared for a surprise pick of a name we haven't heard us connected to.

Shanahan thinks he and Lynch are sneaky like that.

I remember hearing that they also tried to trade out of that pick. I'm not sure they went into that draft expecting to draft Pearsall at 31, but I do remember Lynch talking about the rising cost of the position playing a role in the pick.

I think there are a lot of parallels between 24 and this year. I think it's extremely likely they end up in a similar situation next week with no trade back opportunities. Also, I think it's to be expected that the rising cost of premium positions will once again factor into the pick, which means it's likely going to be a tackle, edge or WR at 27.

The biggest factor should be taking the best player. If the best player is an EDGE, WR, or OT fine great.

But if the best player was say a TE or S meaning on a tier above the OTs WRs EDGEs we should take the TE or S. Fu** the rising costs of premium positions bs in that type of scenario.

Like if something crazy happened and Sadiq fell to #27 and we draft freaking Lomu because of "the rising costs of premium positions" I'll just about lose my mind and blow a gasket.

No trade back take the best player unless the available players are all graded on the same tier then ok fine draft the WR EDGE OT.

But if they think Kayden McDonald (for example) is a significantly better player than Lomu or Iheanachor or any of the EDGEs or WRs then we should take Kayden McDonald. Can draft an EDGE or WR at #58. If McDonald is graded similarly and on the same tier obv go with WR EDGE OT as we also have needs at those positions as well.

I'd personally be pumped if we drafted McDonald at #27 as I think he is a great player. Can draft an EDGE at #58 (Barham) and double up at DT with Kaleb Proctor at 127 who is more like Osa. Our DL would be elite again.

Just draft a great player at 27 dont care who it is. Lomu isnt a great player so dont pick him.

I'm with you in regards to just taking the BPA, but we all know that's not how the 49ers draft.

yeah, man,.... I was thinking the same,.... it seems like there's this pattern emerging from the top-30 visits,...
but then, they have a clear tendency to do the unexpected

and very probably they will have to choose btwin what is left when their turn arrives,... according to most mock drafts and the Consensus BB, Proctor and Cooper Jr. will be gone by the time we pick,... same with Lawrence in the 2nd,... though this means nothing and anything can happen the draft day

my prefered combo:

nº27: Max Iheananchor

nº58: Jaishawn Barham

wouldn't mind having Proctor and/or Lawrence if they fall,

and I prefer if they go for the trenches in the first 2 rounds but if they decide to go WR in the first, Denzel Boston,... until yesterday, when I saw the WR blocking grades' list posted here I would have included KC Concepcion,... but now, with his poor blocking and light weight (which means that is going to be difficult for him to improve), I see him as a wasted pick,... he wouldn't see the field in this team under Shanahan if he weren't able to improve his blocking
