When I watched him I seen a dude getting there to make tackles didn't really see him make plays on the ball. He's not the type of Safety id spend a 1st round pick on personally

That's because after his freshman year where he had 6 picks at Purdue. Then went to Oregon where he was asked to play in the box but still had 2 picks.

He didn't seem to be only a box guy at Oregon. Just didn't see him make plays with the ball in the air from either spot.

He looked like a back-end playmaker again, intercepting three passes and returning two for touchdowns. Yet his biggest gain might have been in versatility. The Ducks asked him to play in the box much more regularly than Purdue did.

It showed NFL teams he can potentially help a defense in multiple ways. That could include one of the deep safety spots or as a sub linebacker in the box.
