Loved all the write ups on him

Yesterday morning I said don't be surprised with CB Johnson and Stukes at 27. They were getting 1st round grades so Stukes should be gone in the 10 picks I think.
I wouldn't be mad if he's the pick and just get OG Dunker later if we pass on Pregnon.
I didn't really spend much time on the safeties other than casually watching the top guys, but man, the defense badly needs the next Jimmie Ward--a guy that is comfortable playing 12 yards+ from the line of scrimmage; can come down from centerfield to fit a run, run the alley and make a big hit in the box; sound in his role and doesn't bust assignments; high-level communicator(super important); has the ability to man up a WR and actually be solid. Someone that's the last line of defense and makes sure nothing big is allowed. That's it.

I never understood the Jimmie Ward hate. He was a great player. I've love to have a young Jimmie Ward on this defense.

If 9ers pass on Emmanuel McNeil-Warren, he'll be a Bill no doubt. IMO, just take a combo of Barham and Bud Clark or Barham and Haulcy.

lol bro I don't know if you remember or saw any of it; but I got into it with so many on here about Jimmie Ward. I know nobody I was arguing with was watching or had the All-22; I just could not understand it man. He was a freakin stud.

Old. And didn't he get in some trouble or something?

Would Dunker take over at RT or move him inside to play G?

Don't fix what isn't broken both of our OT are set

Dunker also has shorter arms so he may project better inside

His first four years he broke at least one bone every year. He broke his collar bone just running if i recall. Not doing anything else.

That's why the hate.
Yeah it was injury issues with Jimmie Ward. People did say they wanted more playmaking impact but they didnt necessarily appreciate all the right angles and good coverage and extremely good tackling with almost no missed tackles.

But now we see what it looks like with safeties that have neither consistency and good fundamentals NOR playmaking abilities - and its pretty bad

With all that said, I started watching EMW tape and I cant say Im too impressed. A guy who hovers a ton around LoS, tackling form is Mustapha-like, and is constantly facing inferior competition.

Then again, Im a staunch opponent of taking safeties early in todays NFL unless they have Kyle Hamiltons pedigree, and that is fairly rare.

Will he come up and thump?

I liked him

I am totally with you on Dillon Thieneman, he plays with a lot of heart and with a non stop motor! In fact the Oregon Ducks TE is also a future NFL star!

I wonder if we traded out the first because the Bears moved up and grabbed him? Do you think we should have moved up one spot and grabbed him or not that big of a deal?
