And even though my guy Dillon Thienenman won't be there at #27 or be drafted by the 9ers. I wouldn't mind Gerrmie Bernard at #27. I can't see him lasting till the 58th pick.

I thought we weren't in the business of reaching for need? I don't hate Gerrmie Bernard, but in no way is his the 27th overall player in this draft.

And it's not close.

40 times can be deceiving. Fast times don't always translate to the field. Some players train more to get a fast time and even drop a few pounds. Neither Puka Nacua or JSN had eye popping 40s but they both excel in games because they know how to get open and catch the ball. That's what counts.

Still won't go R1.

I'm not saying he will but relying on 40 tmes is a fools way to draft a WR.

Never brought 40 times at all, that was Kolohe, I just don't think he's a first rounder.

We're saying Bernard isn't the 27th best prospect in this draft.

40 times overall don't push guys up or down rds. It's just about confirming what is on film

My comment wasn't directed at anyone. It was just a comment on how some people place too much emphasis on 40 times.

Pearsall and AJ Jenkins weren't either in our eyes. Can't deny Bernard had a pretty good Combine and I'm talking about just his 40 time.

Pearsall wasnt that much of a reach. His concensus was around 50 so most teams probably had a 2nd round grade on him. Since we picked him at 31 i doubt there were any 1st round talent available at that time.

Id be surprised if Bernard goes before round 3.

How can you be so sure? Shoot no one thought Nick Martin was worth a 3rd or the 9ers would draft a kicker AND a punter in the 3rd and 4th rounds.

I think Bernard is round 2 pick.

AJ Jenkins was a joke...but it was the one draft I really checked out. Had a close friend going through cancer treatment so I missed the first round for the first time in a long time and since. Came out of the hospital to check my phone to see Jenkins was the pick and just laughed but figured maybe Trent knew something...nope.

Pearsall was a surprise but given the run on WRs wasn't a big reach if at all. That draft there were clearly 4 WRs head and shoulders above the rest of the bunch - Marvin Harrison Jr, Nabers, Odunze and Brian Thomas then there was a group of WRs after them which was talented but not considered special. Flip a coin and any of them could've gone first. Chiefs moved up to grab Worthy for his speed. We took Pearsall next. As the two white boys he and McConkey will always be compared. Hard to say Ricky is better now but if he stays healthy we'll have a better read on that.

This year I think you have 3 guys considered in a group of their own - Tate, Lemon and Tyson but now there are some questions for Lemon and Tyson but still hard to see them dropping to 27. I imagine Boston, Concepcion and Cooper Jr and even Chris Bell despite his ACL injury will be the next group. Once again...coin flip of which team prefers which guy.

Do we really think 8 WRs are drafted ahead of us to have us take Bernard and make it 9 drafted in the first round? That would set an NFL record by 2 picks.

Now it's certainly possible that 49ers are going to be different again and think Bernard is better than 3+ of those other WRs and make him the pick but I find it hard to believe.

I for one like Bernard more than Boston, Bell. I'd put him on par with Concepcion. I think in this offense id take Bernard over KC personally.

So for me he's the #5 WR. Behind top 3 and Cooper.
"Bernard is the perfect #3 WR" Forgot where I read this, his game though really fits the #3 spot, he kind of roams around and gets into open spots. Kind of like Juice out on routes
