Sam Roush-TE-Stanford

If the 49ers actually consider cutting Farrell loose, Roush is an intriguing late round prospect known for being a determined and dedicated blocker while providing a boost as a receiver as well. Not a flashy guy but a big body at 6'5" and 250+ that is the stereotypical Stanford TE in that he's good at most things and isn't spectacular at any one thing. Decent route runner, decent hands, picks up yards after the catch regularly, doesn't have great speed but shows enough awareness to find the open spots in a zone and sits down in them, presenting a big target for his QB. Blocks his ass off frequently even if his technique is still a work in a progress. A particularly good and useful downfield blocker.

He's another guy that will be displaying his skills at the Senior Bowl.

We can draft him but Kyle probably won't give him snaps over Farrel
I would look at this as a mid-round pick even if they retain Farrell for 2026. 49ers need a plus blocker at TE to develop and eventually replace Farrell.

I call bologna on this a little bit. While there might be some younger players who we would like to see get minutes, he usually plays the guys who get results. Tonges almost immediately leapfrogged Farrell.

Farrell is probably getting cut. He offered very little in the way of receiving or blocking help despite having ample opportunity.

I really didnt think he'd actually be 260.
This guy is exactly what the 49ers need.

Having a decent week at Senior Bowl so far too

the Niners BADLY need to add a big time blockingTE. One of the big reasons the run game sucked all year is because the tight ends(outside of Kittle) can't block at all.
Finally just watched him and boy is he a perfect fit. He screams a guy that the pundits will be asking "how did this guy fall to round 4?" My favorite TEs are Roush, Klare, and Royer

I feel like he's the second best TE who maybe go in the 2nd round with all the exposure. We'll see what his Combine looks like but if he runs a 4.55, he'll be outta the 9ers reach.
