Team Needs 2026 NFL Draft

1) LG: This feels like the weakest spot on the OL. The unit has played well overall, but LG could really use a plug-and-play starter.

2) DT: With several upcoming FAs, this is an area to address. Collins and West have looked solid, but adding a disruptive interior DT would help the pass rush

3) WR: I expect Jennings to be re-signed and we have Pearsall, but we still need another difference-maker. I could see a WR in the 1st round—adding another weapon would be huge, especially someone with a similar skillset to Aiyuk.

4) S: Solid group overall, but no true standout. They're good against the run, struggle a bit in coverage, and a true ball-hawk would elevate the defense.

Other notes:

EDGE: The pass rush looks rough right now, but getting Bosa and Williams back changes that fast. Ferrell, Huff, and Okuayinonu are solid depth. A mid-round speed rusher wouldn't hurt, but I don't see this as a top need.

OT: McKivitz has played well, and if Trent comes back for another year, spending high draft capital here doesn't make much sense given other needs.

Some of the positions of need I agree with and some good ones are mentioned here. But I got to say no on WR in the 1st round. We don't need it and we tend to bust it a lot too.

2nd - Deebo - head case, injured a lot and now gone.
1st - Aiyuk - Rodman level head case. Almost Aldon Smith level. Severe injury. Gone by the end of the season. Quit on the team after huge contract.
1st - Pearsall - Injured all the time. ZERO TD's all season. You should see the endzone 3 - 5 times even as a #2 WR. Barely plays. Drafted too high. Really concerned about him now.

Our picks high up at WR are horrible. Lets fill offensive and defensive line. Maybe Safety. It would be a mistake for this team. They don't know how to pick them anyway. Their history is awful.

News flash, it isn't just the first and second WRs that are a$$.........it's all of them. Sign Pickens, Robinson, or Pierce.

I feel Pickens would really help us. But it depends on the cost. I don't want a huge WR deal again. But it may take that to get somebody of that quality.

Lol. These statements always kill me. Ya think?

I'm already have visions of the next Drake Jackson dancing in my head! Lynch will polarize on pass rushers and end up selecting the 4th or 5th highest rated pass rusher instead of looking at all positions of need and taking BAP.

The pick will be made and Niner Nation will collectively say "huh?" Lynch will act like he found that diamond in the rough and brag that our selection "really fits the Niners culture."

Sadly, it's all too predictable…..:(. This story has been told before…I'm trying so hard not to be a smartazz but of all the things this team does well, drafting is not our strength.

As much as they can use a really good receiver I hate to spend a high pick on one because they often end up being flakey. I still prefer taking quality O line and defensive players if they're available. If a really good tackle is sitting there when they pick they can't pass up the opportunity to draft Williams eventual replacement. It's a hard spot to fill and there's no way of knowing when the chance will come again.

Deal with finding his replacement when he's gone. Why use a premium pick on a guy to sit on the bench when we have holes all over the roster

My early guess is that they will find a way to resign all the free agent defensive lineman and let Jauan Jennings walk. The result will be a 1st round WR pick in a deep WR class, someone with size like Denzel Boston or Chris Bell.

There isn't one of our free agent Dlinemen who should be brought back unless it's to fill the practice roster.

Bring back Sam O because he is a RFA but

DT- Jordan Elliott
DT- Kalia Davis
DT- Kevin Givens
DE- Yetur Gross-Matos
DE- Clelin Ferrell

Can all GTFO. They are below average backups at best.
What is our cap situation looking like this offseason? Rarely are the Niners active in landing higher tier free agents. We need a few very soon.

Crazy how Lynch gets no credit for the next man up when the next man up is someone he literally brought in or drafted. Both of you guys have been in the Shanahan thread talking smack but have been awful silent since the 49ers beat Philly. It must suck being a 49er fan and not being able to celebrate a playoff win in Philly against the worse fanbase in sports because of all the crap you have talked about how bad our GM and coach is. LOL at being miserable after the philly win.

If our roster sucks and the coaching sucks how are we still alive in the playoffs much less go 12-5 during the regular season. We have literally beat every NFC playoff team still alive. Help me understand.

they are lonely and want engagement. Its like the old man and lady that complain about everything just so they have someone to talk too

Can't be understood. They are the forty whiners club. They would rather have Mike mayok and Jack Del Rio running the team rather than all the success we are having with this duo! It's hilarious!!
Go Niners! What a great story this year overcoming adversity and keeping it positive, a real lesson for everyone

I agree with everyone except Kalia Davis, assuming he is brought back on the cheap. He battled injuries in his first few years, and he is finally healthy and flashed at times. I think the needle is going up for him. The rest can wait at home until injuries demand we resign them again in October.

I'd bring back just about any of those guys if the price it right. Everyone of them were suppose to be backups this year. I'd of course add a few more names in free agency and let them all fight it out during camp.

He should get a lot of credit! Our biggest beef is with drafting. The way in which we evaluate, scout and ultimately choose players needs to be overhauled.
