1) LG: This feels like the weakest spot on the OL. The unit has played well overall, but LG could really use a plug-and-play starter.

2) DT: With several upcoming FAs, this is an area to address. Collins and West have looked solid, but adding a disruptive interior DT would help the pass rush

3) WR: I expect Jennings to be re-signed and we have Pearsall, but we still need another difference-maker. I could see a WR in the 1st round—adding another weapon would be huge, especially someone with a similar skillset to Aiyuk.

4) S: Solid group overall, but no true standout. They're good against the run, struggle a bit in coverage, and a true ball-hawk would elevate the defense.

Other notes:

EDGE: The pass rush looks rough right now, but getting Bosa and Williams back changes that fast. Ferrell, Huff, and Okuayinonu are solid depth. A mid-round speed rusher wouldn't hurt, but I don't see this as a top need.

OT: McKivitz has played well, and if Trent comes back for another year, spending high draft capital here doesn't make much sense given other needs.

Some of the positions of need I agree with and some good ones are mentioned here. But I got to say no on WR in the 1st round. We don't need it and we tend to bust it a lot too.

2nd - Deebo - head case, injured a lot and now gone.
1st - Aiyuk - Rodman level head case. Almost Aldon Smith level. Severe injury. Gone by the end of the season. Quit on the team after huge contract.
1st - Pearsall - Injured all the time. ZERO TD's all season. You should see the endzone 3 - 5 times even as a #2 WR. Barely plays. Drafted too high. Really concerned about him now.

Our picks high up at WR are horrible. Lets fill offensive and defensive line. Maybe Safety. It would be a mistake for this team. They don't know how to pick them anyway. Their history is awful.

What are you talking about? So Deebo and Ayiuk were horrible?

Aiyuk is horrible in the end for sure. At total disaster to give a huge contract to that clown. Dee_VAH was pretty good but injured a lot, a head case, and now left town.

Pro bowlers and 1st and 2nd team all pros, made the SB with both . So no, no, not horrible and not a disaster

Aiyuk is a disaster. He acts like Aldon Smith. A total mess. You don't give $120 million to that.

Sam O, Beal, Ferrell, & YGM are all free agents. While these would not be expensive resigns, I'm sure they will look for more talent in the draft.

Ihope they offer Sam O a 1 year and Ferell a two year deal. Look to the draft to add two other D-linemen, one interior and one edge guy.

Not from an on the field perspective anyway.

What is needed most? We need to stop whiffing on picks! Not sure if that requires a major overhaul of the methodology on how we make picks but it's clear there is room for improvement…

It's been better the last two years ( 2024 first-round WR Ricky Pearsall ( when healthy), second-round CB Renardo Green, third-round G/T Dominick Puni and
2025 Round 1Mykel Williams, DE, Georgia ( before the injury)
Round 2 Alfred Collins, DT, Texas
Round 3 Nick Martin, LB, Oklahoma State ( it seemed like he was starting to show something before his concussion)

Round 3 Upton Stout, CB, Western Kentucky

Round 4 CJ West, DT, Indiana

I think all these guys have flashed ability at one point or another and are part of the reason the team didn't collapse under the weight of the injuries this year.

YGM back on the injury list after returning to action against the Colts. I could see them adding another big DE early in the draft to rotate with Bosa & Williams since YGM can't stay healthy.

Keion White will be back next year, and may slide into that YGM role. I think a full off-season with the team could help him make a leap. I think if we go DE it would be someone who could add pass rush ( at least rotationally).
The Niners can use upgrades at several positions so I don't care in what order they try to improve those spots. WR, O line, edge rusher, another RB, LB. All could use help.
I would like to see a left tackle in place and learning from the master. At least one receiver seems to be called for and a center. You can never have too many pass rushers. Other than that, BPA.

Exactly. SD is talking talent and says they can't identify it in the draft

A lot will hinge on what kind of $$$ Jauan Jennings is looking for. WR becomes a huge priority if they lose him.

When in reality SD can't identify it

You should be able to identify head case and quit on the team too. Something they run into a lot. But they always miss that. Time and again.

So they should be able to see into the future? Can't believe they miss that!!!!
