2026 Draft Prospect Watch List and Discussion

LBer/IOL/S/RB/TE are positions that you can fill in later and consistently find in FA at half the price as these other positions.

That's what you draft those positions early

literally the first thing that crossed my mind when I looked at that list. I wouldn't pay that much for any WR in the NFL. IDGAF who it is

They're all overpaid lol. Just how it goes.

Draft the higher end impact positions on those cheaper deals

exactly. even WR is less impactful imo. with the way how the position works and how you can share snaps, you could replace a superstar with some real good rotational receivers

getting a good young edge/tackle or QB on cheap ass rookie contract is the ultimate NFL jackpot though. even a good DT who can rush the passer. Osa is making 20m a season for a reason.

and also the reason why I just cant justify taking a safety early, unless theyre Kyle Hamilton. Even Emmanawori didnt really play safety last year for seattle. most of the league still plays 2 deep safeties and tons of zone. Then you look at some of these 2nd contracts for these safeties and they arent getting anything

Cam Taylor Britt second contract is a 1 year, 1.2 million deal with the Colts. Thats a second round pick who was thought of highly and started tons of games for the Bengals. Sure he had some law issues last year and his production dipped that year, but talk about a minimum salary contract.

Taking a safety who isnt a shoe-in pro bowler early just seems like a waste of resources to me in todays NFL.

I don't put WR as an impact position personally. I put it in the most reliant position on the field category

Yeah man just how it goes, I would disagree that WR is less impactful. Theres a reason why they make so much cash. Alex Pearce makes more $ than the highest paid S, IOL, LBer, TE, and would be the second highest paid LT and 3rd highest paid CB.

Ive said it in other threads, if I was building a roster I would focus on drafting those high end impact positions early in drafts and spend my cash in FA on those other positions like S/LBer/IOL/RB.

Their are only 2 players projected to go around where we pick, that wouldn't upset me if we passed on KC Concepcion to select them. One of those players is Iheanachor. That kid has a sky high ceiling and could be the best player in this entire class if he reaches it. The others player is Lawrence.

Concepcion
Lawrence
Iheanachor

So you would pass on guys like Caleb Downs; Sonny Styles; Ioane and Jeremiah Love…..just because those other positions cost more in free agency when the time comes?

Kickers and Punters aside; if I were building a roster I would focus on adding good players regardless of position. "High impact" is so overblown in my opinion. You mean to tell me that Kyle Hamilton and Nick Emmanwori isn't making high impacts for their teams? Fred Warners "impact" was immediately felt when we no longer had him. People cry till this day about how our guards suck and we lost a SB because of one missing a block. A good guard wouldn't have had an "impact?"

CMC has the biggest impact on our offense; everyone struggles when he's out; both Kyle and Purdy included. I'd bet money right now that Love wins or is at least runner up for OROY; but nah the WR that touches the ball half as many times as he does (if that) has a higher impact. lol

Maybe it's just a poor choice of words. Miss me with that high impact BS; they just higher paid, doesn't make them more impactful

I would love Max ICanAnchor if he falls to us at 27. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets pick in the late teens to early 20s. I remember last year, Armand Membou climbed to top 7. The year before, Tyler Guyton another inexperienced player got picked at end of first round. I like this kid better.
