2026 Draft Prospect Watch List and Discussion

We only have 6 picks this year. Every year of Shanalynch has had at least 8 draft picks.

Can only hope Lynch has the disposition of trading back and accumulating 2-3 extra picks this year for once.
Dude if I see one more mock with Lomu going to SF I'm gonna lose my mind. It's such a lazy I don't know what to do for SF or where to put Lomu pick

I mean the folks screaming for OT would love it….regardless of the player (which I find annoying). I don't think he's a 1st rd guy.

HA right on cue

I don't think there's going to be a home run selection regardless who's taken. Lynch hasn't been shy about us need a LG. Obviously we need a Tackle soon and WR needs to addressed and then our pass rush n pass needs an injection of real talent. A have their merits the worst thing that they can do that they will likely do is reach for a player they don't think will be available at 58 instead of taking advantage of picking at 27 like they do every damn year

Yes so pick BPA at all picks when that player(s) is on a tier above the other considerations. For example, at #58 if someone like Chris Johnson CB was still on the board he would almost certainly be BPA and I don't care if we have signed all these CBs in FA and have Green/Lenoir we should run the card up and take Chris Johnson as he has shut down #1 CB potential. If he shows that potential we could trade Green or Lenoir if we get great draft compensation offers for one of them. And in doing so we have increased our team's talent meter while having the ability to receive 2027 draft pick(s) for one of our other good (but not great) CBs.

If you're going to pass on Chris Johnson at #58 to address other positions in that hypothetical then you must trade back to a team wanting to move up for him and be compensated for the value of that pick with that player still on the board. Otherwise take the guy who has the best chance of being a star.

And do that at each pick.
What's everyone thoughts on Georgia TE Oscar Delp?

I'm seeing draft analyst saying that he has some Kittle in his game, and he was held back at Georgia and that will change in the pros if he lands with the right team. Watching highlights of his blocking and athleticism makes me not hate using #58 on him if he's still there. Pairing Kittle with baby Kittle could pay off now and when Kittle starts to decline/miss games. The way Delp blocks, I wouldn't be surprised if he forces Juice off the field when Kittle returns. Those chunk plays where Juice gets ran down, are probably house calls with Delp's speed.

Love Delp. I do think hes worth a late second round pick. But if that's what it costs, id want the niners to spend elsewhere.

Dallen Bentley
Matt Hibner
Carsen Ryan

All later round options. Not as good as Delp, but more cost appropriate given the other team needs, imo.

Of course if Delp is simply BPA at 58 (not likely) then you take him and you do so happily.

Bro nobody is a 1st round guy for you lol! Lomu wouldn't be a bad pick; they can and probably will do a lot worse than him. He'd be our day one starting LG with the potential of being our LT of the future.

Yes Oscar Delp! One of my biggest draft crushes and I'd be fine using #58 on him.

Runs in 4.4s ...Great and willing blocker... great character... can get YAC and catch the ball well... criminally underutilized by Georgia in the passing game.

I dont know how to post links here but link a couple of the videos you liked (if you want).

This is why a swap of picks with say AZ for their 34 and 65 for our 27 and 127 can really help.

Draft your boy Malachi Lawrence at #34, AJ Haulcy/Ted Hurst/Keylan Rutledge/Jadarian Price/Chris Brazzell/Treydan Stukes at #58, and Oscar Delp at #65.
I can't for the life of me understand why the 49ers haven't done something with this secondary. They need a starting safety and a corner at a minimum. It's just a bad group.

This is the problem. You can't understand why they haven't upgraded the secondary. A lot of people feel the same way about the O line or the pass rush. Then you have the WRs issues.

You can't fix everything that easily. They've drafted some secondary players and some are pretty good but when you have other needs and you draft late in the rounds nearly every year you aren't going to have a chance to get the best players. You can sign free agents but that presents another problem. They're usualy expensive. So you do the best you can and hope some of those later round picks develop.

Even if you draft players n the top 10 it's no guarantee of success. Look how many teams seem to draft early every year and yet they still suck.
Dane's latest 7RD mock has SF taking…

Caleb Lomu-OT
Germie Bernard-WR
Will Lee III-DB
Beau Stephens-IOL
George Gumbs Jr.-EDGE
Jack Endries-TE

I would be vastly underwhelmed if this is how it turned out 🤮 Bernard would be my favorite pick and I'm not over the moon about him either. I don't know anything about Lee or Gumbs.

It's wild to me, everyone is pretty much on the same page that Lomu ain't it, yet for whatever reason he's gotta be a 1st rd pick. I can't see him playing LG for a yr or two then moving over to LT. can't move dudes, his anchor is suspect, no sand in the pants…so let's play him at guard? Something he's never done? I mean MAYBE he's the next Joe Staley. I just don't see the attitude that comes with it.

Just seems like a well we have to put him somewhere and SF MIGHT be in the market for a LT in a couple yrs

Why do you feel like he's not a 1st round player?
