Can he be put outside, yes. Is that remotely close to his best spot, no…If you want the best out of him it's in a NCB/S role, Not as a boundary corner.

Hell he's even said his best spot is NCB

I can find just as many that disagree

I completely disagree that it isn't remotely close to his best spot. Barron can 100% play outside, I do agree that he is probably best outside, but I also disagree that we have an elite NCB, Lenoir only did it because we had no one else, they'd clearly like to leave him outside. Barron could easily allow us to do that.

#11 is a bit rich though and I don't like that he'll be 24 when the season starts. I could get on board, but ultimately I don't think he's the choice.

The more I watch of Harmon the more I'd be very happy if we drafted him. He's shooting up my board.

This is the other part of it. I think we'd have 3 guys that could play inside/outside.

As for his age. All it means is he gets one contract extension instead of two. We"d theoretically get him for 7-8 years. With his ability to play safety that's already a built-in fail safe for his age.
everyone has this guy going 2nd round

49er beat writers:
"this is the guy at 11"

why do we have the worst beat writers?
shouldn't we have intelligent sports journalists in SF covering the 49ers?

we have ZERO
and it's been the same f**king idiots for the past 10-15-20 years

I don't know i'm going with my man Eric Crocker who does scouting and has played DB in the NFL. He says Barron's best fit is nickel and he looked like a 3rd round prospect to him. He does have versatility but most of his outside snaps were in zone coverage. He's a good prospect but definitely not at 11.

Dane Brugler has him as is #30 prospect. In his report he says teams view him as a nickel but also adds they like his versatility.

I can't. Even our resident DB mind Eric Crocker says he's at his best in that NCB slash hybrid S role. He wouldn't be taking him top 11 if the plan is to play him outside mostly. We already have a really good NCB who's makes a s**t ton of money.

this is a great listen on CBs/LBers. I think Barron is probably the best DB in the class. I think like a lot of players they have positions they're better at.

zierlein has him with the 6th highest grade in this yrs draft, only reason he's being mocked later is because of character issues
damn, ol boy was looking like he was ready to quit again. I always thought this dude had sketchy effort at times. It all makes sense now.

Yeah, was a good listen, liked the Schwessinger stuff, will go and watch the Iowa game.
I might prefer Grant over Nolan because of the issue surrounding Nolan. Grant has the size that the Niners are lacking in the middle of the line. That's assuming that someone doesn't slip down. Of course then you have to be concerned about why they slipped down.

I recommend his 301 pods with all the prospects groupings. Good stuff

There are many times actual NFL draft boards differ greatly from the media.

I've seen a bunch of people have Nolen rated very highly. I saw a tweet the other day where one guy had him graded as DL1...he actually had Graham as IDL3 behind Nolen and Harmon.

Found the tweet

You can of course question the scouting ability by this guy but the point is...it all depends on the POV.

Also our beat writers may get info from OUR team that national guys don't get.
