Mason Graham going 19 and Starks going top 10 is crazy to me. Not in the realm of "impossible" of course but it's pretty wild.

Honestly that draft is way too good to be real.
All of you got Athletic subscriptions? I can't see it
I just googled Matt barrows 7 round mock and found it

Appreciate it. I seen it from one of my boys on here and man I could live with a draft like that!

Grant going before Graham isn't as shocking as people might think. This is what I dislike about draft season/mock draft culture the most; the group think.

I would be stunned, used to watch Brett on YouTube and liked his insights. Drafts always have those didn't see that coming whether it be players dropping or get selected earlier than expected. That being said that mock is crazy probably just controversial bait to bring people to his channel. To bad used to respect his takes

I like Kenneth Grant, so I wouldn't be too upset if he's the guy. It's just that NFL teams don't value nose tackles, so I can't see many teams ranking Grant over Graham. Nose is the most devaluated position on the defense due to the nature of the passing game. However, I think defenses will soon realize the importance of the nose tackle with offenses heavily trending back to the running game. An athlete like Kenneth Grant that gives defenses strong run defense with true pass rush upside is a rare commodity. Most teams don't expect to get anything from their nose tackle when teams pass against base personnel, but if you've got a guy that can legitimately get after the QB as a nose (ie like a Dexter Lawrence), it allows a defensive coordinator to get into nickel personnel while maintaining strength against the run and limits how offenses can manipulate defensive personnel.
Objectively, I think a guy like Kenneth Grant makes a lot of sense for the 49ers situation given struggles they've had the last few seasons with run defense. I've been pounding the table for a big 330-pound body for years now. It would be very interesting to see a 330-pound dude that not only stops the run but can be unleashed and get after quarterback.

That's where I'm at I have #1 Graham #2 Nolan and Grant at #3. He's not flashy but he holds it down, wouldn't mind Harmon either but I want us to go run defense hard in this draft

Yeah when you look at the clips of Saleh getting juiced on the sidelines from his last stint here, they are all from when the D held the opposing team on 4th and short. I want that again.

Starks is still being slept on. He's a great player and I stand on what I said months ago; he's someone I'd be fine with at 11. He would change any teams defense and fits any scheme IMO
That said; yes I would take Graham over him

I agree not that I think Starks is worth #11 but I like what I see,. That and having Brown start scares tf out of me. I like the idea of having a true FS over the backfield and unleashing Mustapha to be the SS he is

My new biggest draft fear, is that Graham is on the board and we pass. To be fair I have him outside of my blue chip "S tier", but still have him as the 4th best player in the draft. It's so weird how many decisions are made after football finishes. Look at the tape.

Best is to trade down, if they get a good offer

I mean we already have some one like that in Dee Winters outside of playing the edge, not only do I not see Walker as a scheme fit but a huge liability in the run game at LB or DE
We definitely need someone to pair with Bosa but I think we need to focus on run defense, our pass rush isn't bad but our run defense looks really bad on paper only two players I trust is Bosa and Warner
Someone like Williams immediately improves the run D. He's also got the skill set and measurables to grow into a legit edge rusher.
it's projecting for either guy as a legit edge rusher.
Harmon is a dude that would immediately provide juice on the inside. He's gotta finish as a tackler in run sport but it's not like he was getting destroyed in the game at all. Legit rusher though.
I think Walker will do well against the run, off the ball in base downs. Be that as our SAM, or as Greenlaw's replacement. I see a great athlete, with explosion, strength and suddenness. Who plays with his hair on fire and comes with bad intentions.
Idk think you might be glazed by Walkers speed and agility, he might be able to cover ground side line to side line but you run right at him with a 6'5 300+ pound lineman he isn't pushing them back or holding it down at his size. I'm not saying Walker is going to be a bust but he doesn't make any sense to me in our scheme or what we need
Haha Walker's a bit of a pipe dream. He ain't falling to us anyways.
I hope not
Great athlete just not a fit

Uhhhh....what
I mean he's lower on Graham. This is "his" mock and clearly he's not drafting how the league based on what the consensus is and insider buzz.
doesn't even have Walker or Williams in the 1st lol
