2025 NFL Combine

Mcvay usually doesn't go (neither does the GM). I don't see Jim Harbaugh, Matt LaFleur, Daboll, or Tomlin scheduled to talk (might mean they're not going).

One guy who is definitely on the case is Cohnhead. All the HCs in attendance have pressers today so he's making the point to go ask each one why they're attending combine. Meaning the real point is trying to show why Kyle Shanahan is such a POS coach. Posted on YouTube every single time asking each one, such disingenuous trolling.

What else do these guys have to do this time of year? This is their only job...this is what's happening NOW. I wouldn't miss it for the world if I were a GM or HC.

Kyle has gone before, we didn't win the SB and had bad drafts and good drafts.

He's not the only HC who doesn't go and clearly he has experience either way. People are making it into a big deal because they don't like Kyle it's pretty simple.

Anything to get a reaction

They're actually watching film of the prospects both in FA and the draft (which Kyle has said when asked before about it). They got resources there at the combine as well, what's the point of paying all these scouts and GMs a ton of money if you don't trust them to do their job at the combine?

Everything is recorded. They will do interviews in person and FT throughout the draft process.

So you're saying if you were the HC, you wouldn't go to the combine where all of the players are meeting with other personnel from the other teams? I would have a bad case of FOMO, for sure. And yes, I would trust my "personnel personnel", but not as much as my own eyes and ears. They are how I got to be a head coach in the first place. I would rather meet these kids face to face. I want to watch them interact with each other and see how they accept coaching. Bottom line...decisions are made there that could get me fired...I want to be as involved as possible.

I'm pretty sure Kyle and all the other head coaches who have actually been to the combine and now don't attend know that it's maybe not as big of a deal as some people make it out to be. Can't imagine the underwear olympics not being useful.
Here is an article from an actual GM who touches on the subject.

Don't care about the manufactured "controversy" about whether Kyle attends the Combine or not. Niners have plenty of other people there to evaluate the prospects.
Niners player visits at the combine have a definite theme so far, either DT or edge

the internet Draft sleuths don't need to attend the combine and some guys are pretty good
Is there a thread for a lists of players the Niners have met?

They do meet with a lot of these guys face to face in private meetings and FaceTime meetings.

How they play football and watching the film imo matters more than how they answer some of the dumbest questions possible at the combine. For me I'm not a uber micromanager, I hire qualified people that I trust can do their job properly. John lynch makes a f**k ton of cash doing what he does and he will have a collection of scouts there who have been looking these prospects up and down for yrs.

I mean the Rams literally don't have their HC or GM there
