I don't think I saw many results from Oregon's pro day the other day and only seeing Grant's numbers from Michigan's pro day today. Is Mason Graham really just going to skip all the testing? Kind of sus…shouldn't go top 10 imo.

Who cares about testing?

Watch the tape and determine if they can play or not. Too many guys are drafted because they can run fast or throw 80 yards and they all turn out to be giant busts

Nobody said throw out the tape calm down. But also remember Lance saying that and we all thought it was cute and that didn't turn out so great.

The testing helps make comps to other players and good to have. In some cases for certain positions the scores do correlate to better draft outcomes.

Having more information for a critical draft isn't a bad thing…

Why take them early? It's better to wait and get a bargain and pick up good players in rd 5 and 6 (like they did with DJ Jones, Kittle, Huf, etc)
Well, knowing this franchise tend to pick them higher anyway once they zero in on a player. For example, I like for Caldwell to get pick with our 4th rounder. But if we ended up using our 3rd round comp, why not. I'm sure there are players fall anyway based off a few draft gurus draft ratings that doesn't really match what teams draft board rankings.

You have to get value for each pick. Got to pick "BPA"
Otherwise you do boneheaded moves like drafting Cameron Latu in rd 3 and cutting him one year later. That was a Kyle special

Yup. But the problem is the draft board that we see on so called "draft gurus" like Mayock, Kiper, etc is different from our draft board from our management/scouts. Maybe they have a 4th round grade on Latu while those talking heads have a 5th round grade on him. Then freaking Kyle falls for him and then takes him at 3rd. All those pundits will say, hey I have a 5th round grade on him.. that's a reach. Well, that's the problem.
Oh no

I'm a sucker for squatty IDL and just found Thor Griffith. I'm a big fan of what I saw. Bro is built like a 6-2, 320-pound midget. A total brick s**thouse with the get-off and physicality off the ball that you want in a nose for the wide 9. This is exactly the type of IDL that Lynch needs to grab on day 3 to strengthen the run defense, compress the pocket against mobile QBs and bump guys like Kalia Davis and Kevin Givens off the roster.

our IDL is so bad we may be forced to take need over BPA
Aeeneas Peebles is the best pure pass rushing IDL in the draft that I've watched. This dude syncs his hands and feet better than any IDL that I've seen and has a high rush IQ. He knows how to work a rush plan and adjusts to a secondary rush if he stalls. Dude has a filthy outside spin move, which is wild because DL coaches teach not to spin outside. Crazy activity and effort.

It's such a shame that he's just 6ft, 282 pounds. But I could totally see Kocurek liking him because this dude GOES.

How do you stack him up against Nolen, strictly pass rush

He's better than any of the top guys purely from a pass rush skill standpoint. I'm specifically talking about working a plan, attacking halfman, hand technique, timing, placement, syncing hands and feet, etc. The dude is just so meh as an athlete, but if the 49ers want a designated rushing IDL, this is the dude.

Not sure if it's the eye black, build or the filthy spin move, but Peebles kind of reminds me of John Randle 👀

Hero should just start reading my mock drafts so that he can drop knowledge on these prospects for us a lot earlier on the process
Haven't read all the commentary but I will go through it and I'm sure a lot of you have either pointed to these players or mention them in some capacity. One of the factors that it's really important for for the d-line is obviously the size quickness and one thing that I like to add is being violent.

few names come to mind which is Derrick Harmon. Tyleik Williams which he fell on his pro Day 40 run.

The d-line is so deep in this draft, along with the offensive line players that you could basically trade down several times to pick up as many pics as you can and fill up your roster with these players.

Could he play big end on base downs and hold the point against the run, and kick inside to rush the passer on passing downs?

Or strictly a passing down IDL?

Any favorite prospects for this big end / interior pass rusher role?
