2025 Draft Prospect Watch List and Discussion

Does anyone want a backup QB drafted ? Something like Pick 100 on Quinn Ewers or a 7th rounder on Brady Cook. Is this a good idea or a waste of a pick ? I'm not saying they need one of these guy I'm just using them as a place filler. I have no idea if they are good or worth drafting? No I'm not saying draft a QB at 11.

I'd be happy with Seth Henigan with the last 7th or UDFA.

Ya, I agree man. I mentioned that is why we cut Hargrave, Collins and Floyd.

But I'm not sure what we can do about it. Relying on a bunch of rookies isn't the best strategy. But it seems to be our only solution.

I'd love for us to sign Calais Campbell after the draft. He would immediately shore up our run D.

And for the record, this is the mock draft I posted in the sub forum

1.11- Derrick Harmon, DL- Oregon
6'4, 315

-Explosive 3T. Destroys double teams and wrecks one on ones. 39 pressures this last year. Instant starter who team will have to scheme away from. Put him next to Bosa to take on double teams freeing up Bosa with 1 on 1's. Let him attack gaps on passing downs and create pressures all game long.

2.43- Landon Jackson, DE- Arkansas
6'6, 265

-Elite run defender. Rangy and nonstop motor. He has improved every year. Day 1 starter and elite edge setter. The pass rush plan will come by year 2 and he will be a force.

3.75- Demetrius Knight, LB- South Carolina
6'2, 235

-Instinctive, sideline to sideline range. Big, tough and physical. Character, field dementor, leader.

3.100- Alfred Collins, DT- Texas
6'6, 330

-Best run defending DT in the class. 6'5, 330 pound immovable object who will demand a double teams. Instantly upgrades our brutal run D. Offers nothing as a pass rusher but that's not why I want him on this team.

4.113- Jordan Phillips, DT- Maryland
6'2, 315

-20 year old with arguably the most potential among the DT class. Elite explosion and dominant run defender. Not much of a pass rusher yet but when he puts it together he could be a game wrecker.

IMO Harmon is gonna be the pick, possible move down depending on who's will do come up and who else is available.

Much rather take EDGE and James Pearce Jr if we have to stay at #11. Hell even Mike Green.

Not big on Harmon. Rather have Sanders, Norman Lott, Farmer, West etc over him.

If we have to go Harmon better be at 43 if he falls and I still wouldn't love it.

Prefer Shough and only Shough if we are drafting a QB at all and wasting a pick on one. Too many holes elsewhere.

7th round you can get a Craig Woodson at S, Mello Dotson CB Patick Jenkins DT Nazor Stackhoise NT LaJohntay Wester WR Conyers TE etc etc.

No QBs please

Hell NO to Pearce or Green. We want to improve our league worst run game. Not make it worse. And to top it off both those dudes have major character issues. I hope the team has them both completely off their board.

As for Harmon. You couldn't be more wrong about him.

Harmon isn't even a 1st rounder.

Why? I think he's got the size/athletic ability to be a true 3 down 3T. I like Sanders and Lott, they're more pure pass rushers who lack the overall size to stuff the run consistently. I'm of the mind set that we need to take at least 3IDL this draft.

Why?
I like trading down more and more if a top prospect doesn't fall (and that is looking less likely). Going into the 20's while picking up another 2 and 3 + some (maybe 2026 3 or 4) always makes me feel like I can attack the trenches and fill out the roster nicely.
