McKinstry registered 32 tackles, including two for a loss, and seven passes defensed through 14 game appearances as a senior in 2023, per Sports Reference. He never missed a game for Alabama, recording 93 tackles, including five for a loss, two sacks, 23 passes defensed, and two interceptions through his three collegiate seasons.

Question: What are the chances McKinstry will still be available when the Niners pick?

I am the palest, chalky whitest, f**ker on this board, there just isn't a shining history of white guys who can play cornerback in the pros at a high level. The last good one was injury prone and only started in 76 games in his 9 year career. DeJean looks fine in college, but I agree with NY's assessment of him, and am not confident his skills will translate to being a top tier cb in the pros.

Dane has a 5th rd grade on Jackson FWIW.

I also like Dadrion Taylor-Demerson…I think he can play in the nickel as well as S

I think he's a good athlete and football player. I don't think he's gonna be some elite level CB. I can see a transition to S at some point…which isn't worth a 1st for me. He could be good there though.

It's funny, I'm watching his HS basketball highlights and he reminds me of a kid I use to play with…6 foot rocked up dude who could jump out the gym. He was so stiff though. Not fluid at all and everything was about power and dunking. That's cool, but he was so out of control. Playing CB you gotta have those "oily hips" you need to be twitchy and can react well.

yes he's coming back from an injury…there's a reason he didn't touch any of the agility drills though.

I am all for a guy like that, get someone who owns their area on defense....hell get two of them ....

If we cant a top tier lineman, I hope we end up with a top tier CB...hell, if the value works out to get a great CB with the 1 and the two.
