huh? so Mills can't do a lot of the same stuff? I'm just curious...he seems pretty darn accurate between the numbers, goes through reads, good arm, good mechanics, seems like a good rhythm QB for a timing based offense.

Like I said I've only watched some clips on twitter and a 20 min draft profile on him.

I've watch enough of Jones to know what he is imo.

I personally can't explain what it is about Jones I love. Just for me, from what I want from a QB Jones seems to have that "IT" factor. That's what drew me to him.

When I watch all these other QBs I just don't see them in full control. I know Jones isn't the perfect prospect. I know all of his passes weren't accurate.
Watching him play and see his ball placement (again not all we're perfect) seeing him know where to go with the ball. See him being decisive. THAT is what I want from a QB.

No other QB in this draft has that. If Zacj Wilson's ball placement were better and he didn't spin out of clean pockets unnecessarily I'd be all over him too

I mean I've just watched mills for 20 mins and he seems to know where to go with the ball pretty well...former 5 star recruit. Good arm, better size, he's slower to read the field than Jones. Jones has a better deep ball (Doesn't look like they really let Mills air it out much). Mills seems like a good in the pocket rhythm thrower.

I get it Jones is your dude. I think his traits are stuff that can be taught and learned...we will see.

I'm not gonna debate it with you or the other Jones guys. It's March and everyone's made their bed on who they like.

This is why I keep getting mad at myself for getting worked up over what someone else likes or dislike. As you said, we've made our bed. We all have the things we like or dislike. No sense trying to talk anyone on any particular bandwagon at this point.

Not too mention, I believe you agree with this, we likely not drafting a QB anyway. Not only that I don't think any of te QBs I like will be available.

I believe Lance will. You believe Jones will. Another thing we shall see

Yup agreed, no more getting uptight about it (I need to realize this lol)
I'm a Stanford fan but for some reason I'm always underwhelmed by their prospects. The only three players I really wanted coming out besides Luck were Sherman, Ertz, and Trent Murphy.

Mills falls into that same "meh" category for me.
Mills is Kirk Cousins reincarnated after a lifetime of good deeds (stronger arm).

You're a Jones guy what makes Jones a top 10 dude and Mills a 3rd/4th rd guy?

I honestly think Mills could have been a 1st round guy had it not been for the shortened season and his inability to stay healthy the year prior. He's got an intriguing skill set. He's athletic and has a decent arm. It's not a Lawrence or Wilson arm, but he's fairly accurate and I'd say his arm strength is similar to Trask.

Being a Stanford fan, my biggest gripe with Mills is his decision making. Similar to Trask, sometimes he throws it right to triple coverage not realizing there's a safe throw right underneath. Also, I blame a lot of his development on Shaw, who I feel held Mills down from doing more.

I showed examples from earlier in the season but that offense really doesn't do a QB any favors.

And it definitely forced a guy like Mills to show off his arm when finally given an opportunity.

I'm so done with Shaw.

I don't understand why someone like Shaw — who seems like an intelligent guy when you hear him talk — wants to run this mind numbingly boring and stagnant offense from like the 80s. Can't for the life of me understand it lol

I'm right there with you. Has zero trust in his QBs and likes playing the safe, bend don't break, run the ball and don't take chances gameplan.
After watching Mills I came away more impressed with his WRs than him, specifically that Simi Fehoko kid, he's physical asf..

That's why I'm also intrigued by Mills skillset and if he gets to sit for a year or two under Shanahan, he certainly has the tools to compete for a starting position. Low risk high reward.

Oh yeah Fehoko definitely opened some eyes. Should be there in the 7th.
