Kyle Trask-QB-Florida

Wow, check out this throw from the endzone cam. Threaded the needle.

It's throws like this that make me wonder if he eases up on his passes more often than not, on purpose, for an easier catchable ball. I will say that he's right up there with anyone for floating beautiful passes that falls perfectly in the bread basket

Wow I don't see that one at all. Only thing common is maybe size and freckles. Wentz has a good arm and is athletic, Trask is the opposite.

I searched Wentz Trask on Twitter to see if anyone else had that comp, and there were surprisingly tons of people already drawing that comparison. Someone called him a bargain bin Wentz.

I see he's a captain. 49ers LOVE players who were voted captain.

Interesting. Maybe It's their playing style (coming out of college) that I just don't see the comparison. Trask plays pretty much strictly from the pocket.

Absolutely the bolded

He has work to do on his lower body mechanics. I still don't think he has a "plus" arm, but definitely serviceable, especially if he can consistently narrow his base.

I don't like Trask - total statue. I want someone who can scramble out of trouble.

He doesnt really make those- wha bap- throws on a rope either. Drops a nice dime though.

Yeah me too Mayo. I do still believe he's a backup at best in the NFL

I just don't see it either...when I watch him, I see a ton of fades and a lot of 50/50 balls. I don't see the velocity that some of the top tier guys have. He completes a lot of passes, I wouldn't call them overly accurate though. He does have good touch on this deep ball. He is built like an ox. I would say he's about as athletic as Nick Foles.

He plays in a pretty basic spread offense, which isn't that big of a deal now BUT should be factored in a little. I don't see Wentz at all.

I read one NFL scouts compare him to Brad Johnson

Still on the Trask bandwagon
Keep Jimmy G, fix the O-line, draft Kyle Trask, put him on the bench. Problem solved.

Kyle is such a stickler that I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't like any of the top guys.

I also go back and forth between Mac Jones and Kyle Trask. I think those 2 are realistic options. I'm sure there are other guys we're not considering that Shanny will covet. Need to dive deeper.

When was the last time the 49ers completed a go/fade for a TD? Trask drops these right in the bucket.

When he gets his feet right, his arm is perfectly fine.

Any team drafting him will have to ask themselves if his footwork will get better with more reps and focus on that aspect of things because if he can improve and become more consistent, he'd be an absolutely perfect fit in New Orleans or Pittsburgh. Possibly the 49ers too.

I watched a bit of film on him. He moves in the pocket well to avoid pass rushers and keeps his eyes down field. He also is pretty accurate when rolling out. Although, not a runner, he runs effectively when the opportunity presents itself. Definitely a better runner than Jimmy or Mullens and sees the field really well.

The right side of his line is a sieve, and so it is good to know he can reliably navigate the pocket. Something we think Jones and Wilson can do, but don't have a ton of evidence of

Jones might be the best in the draft at navigating the pocket and Wilson showed it all season as well
