dude Fields is far from a generational prospect there is a prospect as good or better at last every year
i mean there is at least 1 qb in this draft who is much better prospect than him in this draft if not 2
If all 5 top QBs max out on potential, Fields is #1 IMO. That's a big if, but that would make him a generational talent.
actually if top 5 max out trey lance would end up the best but like you said thats a big if
I don't think so. I personally believe Lance's accuracy will never be as good as Fields. I also, believe Lance's running style will lead to more injuries, therefore I would put Fields ahead of Lance.

I had Wilson higher, but also have Fields higher now. I would still be good with Wilson, but am hoping for Fields at this point.

Steve Young is well connected to BYU, said Jets are locked in on Wilson and their GM didn't even remotely shot that down. The 1st 2 picks are locked in and in almost every draft is by this point. The media did us a massive solid by pushing Wilson and finding things on Fields to nit pick when he's clearly 1b and pretty much has always been since both him and Lawrence entered college

I would be curious to see what the Niners ratings are. I wonder if both were available, who they would draft. I wonder if Jed's Ohio roots made him fall in love with Fields and was part of him approving of this trade?

Also, the Eagles tried to trade up to #3 initially just for Wilson. Once he was locked in at #2 they then decided to trade back.

If Lance has a good second pro day, I'm might be jumping on the Trey bandwagon.

I'll be very excited with Fields. But, if Shanahan picks Lance - I'm gonna be beyond excited. Shanahan + Lance will wreck this league - in a similar way Reid and Mahomes have and will continue to do so.

To me the biggest difference between Fields and Mac is Fields could have a bad game passing and still beat you in other ways. And what if the Niners suffer some injuries and they need their QB to carry them? What if the defense is on point and our Receivers can't get open on that particular day? What if we need our QB to buy some time for our receivers to get open? We can't always depend on Kyle to scheme our guys open. It's not that easy. We have to remember that defenses have a job to do also. Mac Jones is not going to be playing against those Edge rushers and Dbacks he played against in College. And the coaching is also way more advanced, The game planning, scouting, and everything. Mac's limited athletic ability scares the hell out of me. Putting all our faith in his football IQ to make him a top 10 QB is not what I want to trade 2 future 1st RD picks for.
I honestly don't think he is a bad athlete at all, he just isn't in shape. Similar to Brady - he isn't a world class athlete, of course, but they are both athletic. Mac is just sloppy and needs to get in better shape. Mac jones ran like a 4.7 - that isn't something a non-athletic person does.
People need to stop bringing up 40 times from this draft season. Jones isn't running a 4.7 at the combine.
And 40 time in shorts doesn't always translate to game speed. Jones is a football player so saying he's not athletic is obviously silly. However in comparison to the other top QBs he's easily back of the line and doesn't compare.
you could literally say that for every single player that runs the 40 - no one runs it in full gear, of course it isn't the same as game speed.
and of course he isn't a world class athlete like fields or lance - but he isn't a scrub athletic wise either. you just aren't going to see him doing windmill dunks lol
Yes I can. However pro day numbers are always faster. This is either the fastest draft class ever or maybe the combine was the great equalizer.
Every time we saw Mac run it was like a baby deer. Awkward and painful.
Your comments on Fields make me wonder if you actually watched him play much or just assume he's a runner who doesn't throw the ball well.
What have i said about Fields that was negative?
You've been insinuating that he's a running QB. He's not. He's an athletic QB who looks to throw. Just like Mahomes.
He may not have the arm of Mahomes and may not be as good making some of those crazy throws but he's more accurate than Mahomes was out of college and his arm is special as well.
What I was talking about above had nothing to do with Fields, I was commenting on the fact that someone said Mac Jones is limited mobily to the point where it scares the hell out of him - all I said was that Mac Jones wasn't a bad athlete at all but wasn't in the same class as fields. Then I brought up that you don't need to be a mobile QB, just mobile in the pocket, to win championships. I wasn't referring to Fields being a running QB who can throw.
I think Fields is a great prospect and extremely talented. Throws a beautiful balll.

yeah, just like the last Super Bowl when Mahomes scrambled and won...wait, never mind.
You do realize the only TD that Mahomes scored in the 1st 3 Quarters was his option RUN that was set up by his scramble on 3rd and 11 where Ward blew him up right? Not to mention he scrambled for another 1st on 3rd and 9 where Bosa almost sacked him and he scrambled for 16 on a 2nd and 19.
But yeah, Mac Jones could have done all of that as well.
Didn't manage to get any of that done this past one though, did he? And the guy that beat him this last time, he don't do scrambles.
You switch QBs and put Mahomes on the Bucs and Brady on the Chiefs. Who wins?
you're acting like the chiefs aren't a stacked team too? They lost both their top tackles and i think a guard or something like that right before the superbowl and it showed. The superbowl wasn't on Mahommes at all.

I'd be beyond excited, I'd be downright giddy. He would take this offense to a whole other level.

I think the top QB's are
1. Lawrence
2A. Fields
2B. Mac Jones
3A. Wilson
3B. Lance
Lawrence: I think he could/should be the next Peyton Manning, if you were creating a QB in a lab, it would be Lawrence. There is something about his personality on the field that has always turned me off a little bit, and I am not saying this cause of the recent interview he did. I just remember watching the Championship that he lost and feeling like he didn't play with fire or passion.
Fields: I think the reason why I was turned off by him at first was cause I thought he was small, no particular reason why I thought that, but I did - which I was wrong. I didn't watch much of him live in college at all - just a game or two, obviously was talented. I also remember hearing about him when he was coming out of High School. I just always am super weary of Ohio State QBs cause of the system they run. This guy throws a great accurate ball, extremely fast and explosive, great leader etc. The only question remains is "How fast can he adapt to a pro style offense" - Not because he is "Dumb" or "can't process football" or whatever the f**k people are saying, but because Ohio State runs a drastically different offense than a pro style.
Mac: I am one of the few people who actually really likes this guy and wouldn't be upset if we drafted him. He isn't anywhere near the same athlete as Fields but outside of that - they both are great at just about everything else. Fields probably has a stronger arm but not exponentially stronger. I think Mac Jones has all the intangibles to make him a great QB, as I do Fields. I don't think the disparity between Fields and Jones is too much - I really think they'll both end up being studs. I would say the a positive for Fields is that Fields would probably excel on most teams/systems because of his athleticism, where Jones would need the right situation and style of offense that plays to his strengths.
I don't feel like writing up on Wilson or Lance - long story short, i think both are awesome prospects but super raw and much riskier than the three above.
Would be crazy if 5 stud QBs come out of this draft. All I care about is the one that the niners draft turning into a stud!

I wish NDSU would of had a season last year.
1. They also hold the national championship in the city I live in and since NDSU is always in it - I've made a lot of NDSU fan friends haha
2. I really wanted to watch him play and see his development.

We might have lucked out - if he played last year, he might be going after Lawrence in the draft.

Kyle: How did you win the SuperBowl?
Mike: I had Steve Young. Took him a while to settle in, but he eventually got it.
Kyle: So Mac Jones or Kirk.
Mike: Slaps Kyle in the back of the head.
