I can't remember the last time there were this many QBs so widely regarded in one draft.

2018.

4 QBs drafted in the top 10. Lamar Jackson also drafted in the first round.
I know a lot of people knock his performance in the Chip but fields was obviously playing injured. His ribs or something were def broke . Must of had some serious bruising too.

I like that trait a lot. I think by the time the chip rolled around, the injury was prolly around its height of pain cause it was healing - when it first happens you can usually use adrenaline to get through it - at least partially (which I think showed in the Clemson game).

I'm definitely warming up to fields - I gotta say, it would be wonderful to have a QB that can throw dimes all over and burst for a quick gain like Wilson does. If he can be 3/4 of what Wilson is - we would be in great shape.

The recent drafts are too early to tell. The 1984 and 2004 draft had 3-4 First ballot hall of fame quarterbacks - that is extremely rare. Im not saying the guys from recent drafts won't be First ballot - I just think it's way to early to declare the recent drafts as all time greats.

I think the earliest draft we can start calling "all time great" is 2011. That was the most stacked draft I've ever seen. So many hall of fame players, so many pro bowlers or all pros, or "should of been hall of farmers" like bowman - if he never got injured or Aldon smith if he was mentally more mature at the time.

I dont buy that it was all a coincidence that this week's in the Making trade goes down as Lynch is in Utah.

Also, I'm not really interested in deals they talked about the decision they made was that they needed #3 a d made huge efforts to get that deal done. If they were happy with any QB they could have made the deal with Philly and cut Miami out totally.

It was done before he saw him throw at his pto day. Sheftet knew about the trade far sooner than he announced it but it took the league awhile to sign the paperwork. He speaks about this on the haberman and middlekauf pod.
If Fields were to even show hints at flopping you can find a Mac Jones in any following draft. With the 3rd pick you got to take the elite prospect.
I just rewatched the Alabama game. I'm not going to lie. I know he got injured and toughed it out. But man that does not instill confidence. Some of those throws were off and he looked really confused.

Uh he made some incredible throws in that game. If your expectations are a QB needs to make every read, every pass flawless you're never going to be happy

Fields. I was really impressed with his heart and effort. But there were some plays that left me concerned.

Explain what you mean. I'm sure Shanny and Co. will go over every bit of his tape.

Rosen is garbage. Rosen cannot process anywhere nearly as good as Jones.

This is a narrative based on what Rosen has done in the pros. In college, Rosen was praised for many of the same things Jones is being praised for now. There is a clip from the night he was drafted where Chris Simms was raving about what a great pick it was at 10. He calls him the safest pick in the draft and praises his elite processing speed and intelligence.

Chris Simms is not a good analyst or player evaluator. He was a decent QB in college and that's it. If his daddy didn't win that one Super Bowl no one would care about either of them.

I liked Rosen at UCLA but it's obvious that he isn't an NFL starting QB.

What super bowl did Chris Simms win? You mean Phil?

Yes, that's why I said his daddy won a Super Bowl.

I see it now.

I don't think he even did too badly. They were simply outmatched.
