Not sold on 49ers picking a WR with 13th Pick

A quality tackle is just a lot harder to come by than a quality receiver. DeAndre Hopkins got traded for a 2nd rounder, I mean that's a top 3 receiver, you never see a tackle in their prime get traded though really. That tells me what this league really values.

We don't really know what Shanalynch is thinking or how the draft selections will play out that day. They could want a tackle and all 4 could be gone by pick 13 or we could want Jeudy, Lamb, or Ruggs and all three could be gone. They could not be high on Lamb, while Ruggs and Jeudy have already been picked, forcing them to go tackle or corner. We just don't know.

I don't know really. My thought process is like how does this team get better, how does this team beat the Chiefs or Ravens next year in the super bowl? We're the receivers why we lost the super bowl? No. There were many reason we lost but blocking for Jimmy and covering their receivers stood out the most as things we need to improve.

I could see them going Brown or Kinlaw at #13 if all three WRs are gone. I could see them going WR if all two DTs are gone. It's just going to depend how the top 12 picks play out.
I'm not sold on a WR at #13, either. Hurd's a big WR, but we don't know yet how effective he'll be. I'd love to see Mims on our team. I get he's had some drops, but he's also made the tough catches and still has 4.38 speed to get downfield. He's got the tangibles to do some real damage, giving JG a real playmaker. We all hope both Taylor and Hurd stay healthy...if they do, when you add a guy like Mims now we're talking about a dangerous WR corps. I want to see either Brown or Kinlaw if they don't sign a FA. The fact they were pursuing Suh says they're shopping around to get a "big" to help plug up the huge hole left by Buckner's departure. If they get someone, then #13 pick is truly wide open with possibilities. I'd love to see Thomas or one of the other elite OT's as the pick. Staley's in the twilight of his career...our braintrust needs to do what Walsh did, draft a replacement for an aging starter a year before there's a downturn in performance. It's also possible Lynch trades out of his first pic...and gets some good picks between rds 2-5. CB is a must...Xavier McKinney would also be a good pick, as Tartt's a FA after next season. Would love to see a stud interior OL...someone who can play both C and OG very well.
I'm 100% with you. Go o line and defense niners. Trade down if necessary

Well, the Dolphins traded Larry Tunsil to the Texans - for a bloody fortune in picks! I agree with what you've said. 2 of the 3 WRs the Niners have had in for talks weren't the big three if I understand correctly (Ruggs was the other). #13 could be a trade down or something nobody expects.
Would you package both our 1sts and and two future 2nds for a chance to draft chase? Imagine him and bosa and maybe older bosa

No, I don't think they move from #13, too many good players available at that spot.

Sweet and simple. It all depends.

Hell no
Wtf? I'm convinced that's all we need for another Lombardi
A rookie WR is not going to put us over the top. We were 8-0 before we got Sanders. Had we not, arguably, we may have not gone to the SB. Somewhere before and after we got Sanders, we lost key players(Kittle, Staley, McG, Juice, etc.). We went 5-3 the rest of the way. Sanders won us at least 2 of those games. But could we have made it without Sanders? I think so.

Our team isn't built around receivers. It's defense and a running game with lots of misdirection. One of the top 3 prospects aren't coming in and all of a sudden we are the passing attack that the Chiefs have. We need to sustain this winning team. To do that, you add pieces that keep a balance of older and newer players. Buckner out, new DT in. Staley out, new OT in. Sherman out, new CB in. You want to get the replacement BEFORE they need to start.

I think we all know we've had some bad seasons and when you have a bad team, you need the draft to get starters NOW. When you have a great team with few holes, you use the draft to get future starters. Should a player taken at 13 start? Yes. Does he necessarily need to? No. And that's a good thing!

We are already getting two WR that know the playbook already. I'm also not sold we need to draft a WR at #13.

I say draft a DT or OT with #13 and a CB with 31. And whatever we didn't get with #13 draft one in the later rounds. Take a flier on another late round TE and RB. Keep em coming.

Got to fill the void left by Sanders. One of the of the three rookies will do the trick.

You just love lineman period. I get that games are won in the trenches but losing Sanders was a big hit. We need Ruggs or Jeudy to fill that void. And Person was a great pulling guard we'll miss him. Glad Lynch got us Hyder and Benjamin. Both can play a role

Before Sanders Jimmy had a 90 qb rating. Sure we were winning but don't underestimate his impact. Eventually you run into a NO, KC and will have to score. What we should be looking to do is shore up our biggest weaknesses with the bpa. A vertical receiver is on the short list. I'm not married to the idea and have no problem if we go ot, dt but Ruggs or Juedy would be great picks who cover a big need.
