It's not that I don't think they'll draft a WR @13, I'm not convinced it'll be Jeudy, Ruggs, or Lamb if they do draft a WR in the 1st 2 rounds.

Its not the worst thing that can happen. Depending on how the draft goes there might be a VERY good value at Tackle.

And I would give Shanahan/Lynch some leeway as well because theyve been much better at finding talent at wideout than Baalke.

Yup, read that too, Maiocco is saying that it's 50/50 that Staley will return!. Not good odds. Drafting an OT with an eye to being Staley's replacement will be the right move, especially if there is still a stud OT at 13. Even if Staley comes back, it will likely be for 1 year. If we win the next SB, he will retire. So, in any even, a rookie OT could play right away if Staley does not return or be his understudy for 1 year. Its all good. There are some pretty good OT this draft like Mekhi Becton, Jedrick Wills, Wirfs, Thomas, Josh Jones, Isiah Wilson, and Austin Jackson.

I'll be honest... I've been looking at the draft with the idea that Staley will be around for at minimum 1 to 2 years more.
The latest Maiocco chat thing has me worried that Staley may not return this year and if he does, it's for 1 year at most.

I was so sure on wide receiver with the pick a few weeks ago. Now I have no clue on what the team should do,maybe I watch and listen to too many sports shows.

due to our brilliant free agency Maneuvers, we now have gaping holes in three positions-- wide receiver defensive tackle interior offensive line.
One of our pics has to be iol. Let's take BPA at either of the other two positions

Draft WR at 13 IF they have them at BPA over Thomas. If Thomas is really BPA then fine draft him. If not draft the WR and trade back with 31 and get a developmental T that Staley can mentor and coach up. We need a top flight receiver that can start IMMEDIATELY.
And we are in a position in the draft where WR could easily be BPA.
Is Thomas or any of the other tackles a Shanalynch guy?

MUST.
If still had Sanders could live with an OT or DL at 13 and one of the next tier WRs at 31.
But we dont have Sanders.
Ruggs or Jeudy no matter what.
Nah they should be fine with Deebo, Bourne, Pettis and two hopefuls in Hurd and Taylor.

Lamb, Jefferson and Mims are all better than Ruggs or Jeudy
All of the 2nd rd WR's are better value than Ruggs and Jeudy

Big gamble just going with those guys. Much rather have another receiver in the mix.

I wants Ruggs and his 4.28, but if I can get the above as a consolation prize I could learn to live with it awfully fast.
I'd be very down with this. Prefer Wills, but doubt he's there.
That would be epic. You wouldn't have to worry about the OL for years (in theory). Good financial move too. Top OL aren't cheap.

And finally, we've built a super bowl team... we even traded up in a class with three great WR prospects projected to go right around where our pick is.... If you watched last season you have to know that one of the remaining, screaming needs for this team, is another top talent catching passes from JG...
And people don't want us to pick them 😭 it's just funny lol. We literally don't have that many holes anymore. Y'all don't want to give our franchise QB (that we finally found after how long of Cody Picketts and JT O'Sullivans!!!) a legit top WR??? I just don't understand, I guess it's just fear of picking a bust... or just overthinking cause it's draft season and we're bored...
And I know we need OL help and DB help, etc. I just think it's finally time for us to grab that top WR that we've been waiting for and they're staring us right in the face and now people don't want it 😂😂
Not really. The clear two biggest reasons we lost the Superbowl was OL and CB...two positions that are very close to losing their anchors in Staley and Sherman.
The XWR you're focused on had 3 catches for 38 yards. We were up 10 points with 7 minutes to go until the OL s**t the bed and the defense gave up 21 points in 5 minutes.
Even the incompletions were to open Y's (Kittle/Bourne) & Z's (Deebo)...just passes knocked down, or thrown too high d/t being rushed, defenders making diving PD's, etc.
Sanders at X was virtually non existent in the game plan and even he was in position to catch that bomb.
