I'm wondering if this is more of a function of available talent. It seems our D-line is like Seattle's from 2010-2012. Remember when Red Bryant was playing DE? In 2013 they added Cliff Avril + Michael Bennett and that was the end of that. I'm hoping we can make a similar move. Brandon Graham + Bosa/Polite/Burns from the right side and then Blair/Street + maybe Thomas from the left side.
You're probably right. I guess we'll find out for sure this offseason.
And I'm completely on board with your offseason edge plan. Graham, Impact rookie, Kentavius Street, and Ronald Blair should be a significantly improved edge group. Maybe a day 3 SPARQ edge with traits to develop for the practice squad.
Yeah, and Saleh likened Red to AA so he seems inline with that mold. It seems like he might be more influenced by the bigger lineup in Jacksonville over Seattle?
I guess we'll find out soon.
Jacksonville fell off a cliff fast though. Pete has sustained success even when experience heavy roster change. Have to give him credit for running a nice program and I'd entifying players who will fit. I'm more curious "what" he's doing right vs others etc.
Pete's got over 20 years running some version of that scheme. I suspect he knows his system as well as Andy Reid knows his offense.
As for Jacksonville, they had a lot of talent and I still think they do. I think their heart got snatched. They seem to be a team that can be easily thrown off their game. Pete has got far more control over his guys, even though they are known to snap at one another as well.
