Hypothetically, we trade with the Jags and they take their franchise QB. We give them 1st overall. They give us their 1st (7th overall), 2nd (38th overall), 3rd (69th overall) plus their 2020 1st and 2nd round picks.

Throw in Ramsey and if cream my pants

Read the Dolphins would be all in on Herbert
Most of the feeling here in Eugene is that Herbert will come back for his senior year. He is a 4.06 student and would like to graduate and play one year with his brother who will be a tight end next season. If he comes out and is a top 5 pick like Gil Brandt says it may be the first time a guy who didn't even make the 3rd team all conference got picked in the top 10. Maybe even the first round.
Herbert can throw with the best of them, but I don't think he is that effective off schedule

Your right. He has the arm and size but has never had a big game in a big game. He has never had a signature comeback win against anyone. His best games are always against easy competition which he faced a lot with Oregon's easy schedule. He's a smart kid but he will have a major learning curve when he has to face real defenses. His accuracy dropped off this year as did his other numbers which is why he didn't make any of the league all star teams. Still I'm guessing the pros will drool over his size and arm strength like they do every year at the combine. I hope for his sake that when he does get drafted that he doesn't end up in New York because of the pressure players are under there. He's a small town kid that played high school ball 5 miles from his college so I don't know how he would handle playing under the NY magnifying glass.

Ive seen him play a couple of times this year. Don't really see us getting a big haul if someone want's to trade up for him.

Aka nobody is going to mortgage the farm for him imo

He is at his best when he can take his full drop, read his keys, have a clean pocket and work through his progression... he does this very well, good mobility... but the NFL is rarely perfect like that...
I wonder if we are gonna shy away from prospects that even have a little bit of a character concern because of Foster?

I think it depends where you draft them. Certainly can't afford Day 1/2 guys with off the field concerns.

If they get kicked out of the combine...yeah that's a pass

Yeah I hope they don't over correct and get a choir boy that's not as talented. Like not get Bosa because he decided to skip the rest of the season to prepare for the draft.

definitely
I want the niners to draft 2 edge rushers in this draft. Yes I know we only have 5 picks. It's an expensive position to add in free agency and there is a lot of talented edge rushers in this draft. It's a glaring hole on our roster.
My dream for this draft would be to somehow walk away with Nick Bosa and Byron Murphy. I know it probably won't happen...but the dream is called that for a reason.

I'd be also happy with Josh Allen and Byron Murphy which while still not very, is more realistic than the Bosa/Murphy combo.

I know we need edge bad and Bosa and Allen are studs but I can't help but watch more of Murphy and want him bad.
I would like Bosa in the first, then Winovich...our defense would look totally different, and suddenly, our corners are much more "talented."

If we improve our pass rush, I really don't think we need to spend resources on our secondary at all. Witherspoon is a young player, but he's shown the ability to be a solid starter in this league. Our trash rush and injuries to both him and our safeties have made him look bad at times. I see a lot of potential in all of our young corners.

We find a way to add Bosa/Allen/Williams and Winovich/Burns with our first two picks and our secondary will eat. We also add a guy like Clowney/Ford/Lawrence and even a weak secondary could look like world beaters behind that pass rush.
