I just really hope some edge rushers hit free agency. If we get a legit edge rusher I think it's game-on for QW.
Add a Brandon Graham or Dante Fowler with QW and we've instantly got a pass rusher. I'd also double down with a draft pick and pick up a speed rusher, situation guy.

My dream is Lawrence or Clowney. I'd make either the leagues highest paid defensive player if they did become available. I'd also settle for Ford, Graham, Fowler or even Clay Matthews if he's let go.
Any of these guys are major upgrades compared to what we currently have. You then add Q and even the lesser free agents like Shane Ray would still look pretty good with all the attention being paid to Q and Buck.

If we go this route I'd love a run at Earl Thomas. Warner at middle lb. We are all told defenses are built up the middle....

IMO Williams is more disruptive than McCoy, sucks if the 49ers have to draft another DT after taking Thomas 3rd overall but I guess so be it. At this point the 49ers really cant lose, Bosa and Williams are both pro bowlers.
