Chase Winovich - DE Michigan

If we miss out on Bosa, I badly want Chase to be a Niner.

I don't think he goes in the first. He's not going to blow the combine away. Happens every year where people put more stock on the underwear Olympics than the game tape. I do believe he will blow teams away in interviews though so there's definitely a chance

Yeah, you know what I would gladly miss on Bosa if it meant getting Allen and Winovich.

He is the gorilla glue in "the team", voted MVP by his peers.

Agreed I'd like to see this kid in red and gold. Not sure he's a 1st rd prospect which is good for us

Bosa in the 1st, Winovich in the 2nd, Best CB/WR/TE in the 3rd.
only question I have is has his success been due more to the talent around him, or would he have been this productive on a team with average talent?

how much was he double teamed? how many of his sacks were flush sacks with pressure caused by a teammate? how many times did they let a RB block him because offenses were more worried about other players? same questions I have of Ferrel at Clemson
Chase wins consistently with high-quality rushes. I hate to say this because it sounds like I'm disparaging him, which I'm clearly not considering I'm one of his biggest fans, but he truly is like a poor mans Bosa lol.

Speed. Great job of marrying hands and feet. Check out the sharp 45-degree angle Chase creates with his lower body as he turns the corner. Impeccable job of pointing that inside toe at the QB and dipping his inside shoulder as he turns the corner. Chase is so good.

Speed to power. Sets the tackle up with a shimmy before getting in his framework. Forklift to peel off the tackles inside hand. Chase has an intrinsic urgency that is rare. The guy never stops working. Feet never stop moving. Dude is desperate as hell to get to the QB as if his life depended on it.

2-way edge rusher. Chase can win outside and inside. Tackle over sets outside, and Chase makes him pay with a violent, well-timed club inside. If not for the guard tripping him up, he gets home.

He definitely "won" his matchups. The only thing is, how many of the wins were simply the result of taking advantage of lesser talented OTs mistakes and deficiencies? Dont get me wrong, that is praise of him and not a knock, but I just dont know how much it translates to the next level, and being able to do it against NFL competition. I think he will test as an average to above average athlete, and I'm not sure how much a high motor can carry him at his modest size. I dont see 1st round prospect, and if we get Bosa, I dont see him as being supremely more talented than a CB that would likely be available with our 2nd round pick. I'd be happy to have him as a niner, but I dont get how anyone would be glad to have him, albeit in conjunction with Josh Allen, over Bosa.
