I'm fine with passing on Q though. We have Buckner at 3 tech. Solly and AA as well. Personally I think a Bosa, Thonas, Buckner, Ford line will be better than a Thomas, Q, Buckner, Ford line. There's no weak spot on the Bosa line. Solly on the edge will always be problematic.

Agree. Were loaded on the interior and precious little depth at edge rusher. Having Jimmy back puts a premium on us being able to stop passing attacks because more often than not, we should be ahead at halftime with Kyle and Jimmy operating the offense.

I can't help but see people compare him to Justin Smith, Chris Long and his brother. Jared Allen seemed to do just fine in the NFL and he wasn't exactly an off the charts athlete with crazy long arms.

edit: and while we're at it Khalil Mack has averaged a little less than 11 sacks per season so far. I'm sure if you said Bosa would be in Khalil Mack territory nobody here would be upset right?

20 sack per season hasn't been done for a reason. Hell at this point JJ Watt is at 11.5 per season and he had some crazy seasons.

I think it's his whole package that brings out people's reservations not his skin tone. Family ties, he never came from nothing (hindering his drive in theory) and the fact that he sat out the whole year. Zion could have done the same thing but with him coming back it showed his drive and passion for the game.

You missed the point of that post but I would say out of everything I wrote that one is probably the more likely to happen.

So yes I think the potential is certainly there. He would get WAY more snaps here than he did at OSU, probably could get more snaps as a rookie than he did during his whole OSU career. With the other talent on the DL 15 sacks isn't that crazy.

Bradley Chubb got 12 as a rookie and 10 sacks was his max in college in many more snaps than Bosa had. And I'm hoping we face a lot more pass heavy looks than the Broncos saw with Jimmy back.

It's rare for a guy to get 18-20 sacks even once in a career. If he does it means the rest of the line is doing a hell of a job pressuring the QB and forcing him to that side. That could be a possibility if we draft Bosa. With Buckner and the rest of the interior line putting pressure up the middle like they did last year either Ford or Bosa is going to get to him. Maybe not 20 sacks but I'll settle for 10-12 each.

Your point was to illustrate the ridiculousness of such specific predictions, but 15 sacks just seemed so wildly unrealistic that it jumped out at me. I've watched a ton of OSU games, and I've never seen anything from the younger Bosa to suggest he had that kind of ceiling.

He's a solid prospect, but I think he's being overrated thanks to the name and the position.

I don't care if he doesn't become a 15 sack a season monster, his presence on the line means everyone else is going to eat. Which is something we haven't had since the Smith brothers.
