While Aaron Donald turned into a great player, how can you call someone the best prospect since a prospect that was picked #13, obviously their was 12 better prospects in his draft year alone. Just a observation, q will looks awesome and I wouldnt be upset if they got him or bosa.

It seems to me that almost every year there's a draft crush by many (Bosa) that doesn't meet expectations. Thoughts?

Thoughts...he's been looked at as the top prospect since this time last yr. he plays a position of high impacted and when on the field played at a high level. His film shows all I need to see when it comes to a dominate pass rusher.

I have no idea why people are seriously trying to overthink the idea of drafting him IF there.

Nick Bosa arm Length is 33".

Von Miller-33.5"
Demarcus Lawrence- 33.75"
Khalil Mack- 33.25"
Vic Beasley- 32.5"
Dee Ford-32 7/8"
Melvin Ingram-31.5"
Brandon Graham-32.25"
Jerry Hughes- 33"
Ryan Kerrigan- 33 3/8"
Za'Darius Smith- 32 5/8"
TJ Watt- 33 1/8"

I'm glad you posted this none of the guys on this list, who's arms are 33 or under are "true" DEs. They also average about 6 sacks per season, and all are speed rushers and faster than Nick Bosa. These guys under 33" arms are really LBs that rush the passer and not "true" DEs. They make up for it with speed, something Bosa doesn't have. Dee Ford is solid but I don't consider him elite, he can become tho with consistency.

ford has the 2nd most qb pressures this yr only behind Donald. Dude was elite this yr.

You're trying so hard and it's straight up silly. Calling DLaw, Kerrigan, Mack, Graham, and Smith speed rushers. Stop.

Just look at Bosa's tape - enough said - he's a monster and we'd be very fortunate to draft him.

Right? How can you said a kid is the best prospect since Donald when Donald himself wasn't a elite college prospect?

Pretty much

Do yourself a favor and watch Donald in college. He was insanely good. He fell because he doesn't have the prototype.

I'm fine with passing on Q though. We have Buckner at 3 tech. Solly and AA as well. Personally I think a Bosa, Thonas, Buckner, Ford line will be better than a Thomas, Q, Buckner, Ford line. There's no weak spot on the Bosa line. Solly on the edge will always be problematic.

lol I'm not saying Donald was bad, he was great in college. But he fell because he wasnt as hyped of a prospect as that article makes it seem. He rose well above how good the NFL thought he was as a prospect. Its revisionist history in sports journalism that bothers me.
Baby Bosa's career:

2019 Bosa will sit out 6 games due to a contract issue, get a good 8 sacks in 10 games...everyone will love him.
2020 This year he'll get injured for a season but the potential he showed shall keep everyone hyped
2021 Bosa is still recovering from an injury and that will hold him to only 10.5 sacks but that potential is still there.
2022 Bosa's "contract year" he shows out and gets 17.5 sacks and shows why he was the #2 overall pick. Niners want to sign him to a long term contract but his family tells him he's worth more if he hits the market.
2023 (5th year option) Bosa plays it safe this year and doesn't try to hurt his stock in free agency but still gets 11 sacks so he can "secure the bag".
2024 Bosa is either let go or gets tagged...either way he won't play with the 49ers lol.

That's his career in a nutshell...

Just watch.

If bosa averages 10 sacks a year for his career, I'm good with production.

Sometimes it's about adding pieces and not necessarily hof players imo.

Lol okay man. You clearly don't understand why his brother went through his contract negotiations.

Pretty much this. Any of the top three will help us. If we get cute and trade down then we self destruct.

Dude 10 sacks a year makes him a Hall of Fame player

I think most of us are open to the idea of a trade, but I wouldn't want to trade down too far and miss the best options, and it would have to be worthwhile from the viewpoint of the value we would get.

To put it in perspective, on one value chart the #2 is valued at 2600 points. Oakland's #4 at 1800 and NYG #6 at 1600 points. So the chart considers that the value difference between our pick and Oakland's is 800 points, or the #21 pick, and between us and NYG at 1000 or #16. Whilst the depth charts aren't gospel, they give an idea of the relative value that some teams place in the different picks.

Of course the trade down could net you a potentially great player, plus more. But the lower down you trade, the higher the potential appears to be for failure. The general consensus of experts appears to be that the two elite players in this year's draft are Bosa and Q. Due to the extra positional value the NFL places in qb's they could both still be available when we pick. Or we could trade down to #4 and find one of them still there. But to trade down and miss them both ought to carry an extra payment in compensation.

Draft should be very interesting this year!

Thanks for the explanation WRT value. I can appreciate when looking at the hi-lites of NB the excitement, but it's a hi-lite reel. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a hater....would not disappointment me at all if the team choose NB. I'm trying to understand some of the "absolutes" when IMO there are ?s on defense at CB and Safety and wondered if getting more picks could bolster that aspect while still getting a very good edge rusher that can compliment Ford. I wanted to get an understanding of "value" with regards to trading down and English gave me a something to look into to get smarter. Again thanks!

So what happens if you're wrong?

Internet is where people come to make predictions based on nothing but speculation and wild theories....watch

Baby Bosa's career through my magic 8 ball:

2019 Bosa signs his contract on time because we're not the Chargers and gets 15 sacks and DROY
2020 Bosa flirts with the sack record but comes up short as we rest our starters late in week 17 after winning the division and home field throughout the playoffs
2021 Bosa breaks the sack record
2022 Bosa is extended for a 5 year deal after helping us win our 3rd Superbowl in 3 years
2023 Bosa has an off year as he only gets 17 sacks
2024 Bosa is still here and still setting sack records as we're on year 6 of having a top 5 defense in the NFL

Just watch.
