And here's the thing. A WR is dependent on a lot of other things in the game - the QB, the OL pass blocking for the QB.
A pass rusher can single handedly impact the play. We've got a QB making big bucks, some young talent coming up for contracts. Taking on the highest salary at WR for a guy who is so mentally weak is a big risk. Dude has like a $21 million cap hit next season.
I understand the talent is crazy and I'd love to see him in this offense but that's just craziness.
That doesn't change the fact that of the last seven Super Bowl champions, only ONE has had a guy with double digit sacks. Pass rushers can be double teamed without drastically hurting an offense.
A potential all time great receiver and a decent pass rusher is better than just a good pass rusher.
