Who do u think the niners will pick at #9

I'd rather get Landry a bit lower. What could we get if we trade down 5 spots?

Wtf do we want Edmunds for? Isn't he Eli Harold 2.0?

No, Eli was terrible coming out of college. The analysts were surprised when he slid to the 3rd because they saw him as a good pass rusher, but he never excelled at it in college. They talked about his speed and burst, but I never saw that and he hasn't shown it in the pros. He wasn't drafted early for good reason.

Edmonds could step in for Eli day one and it would be an upgrade. He's just a better athlete. Eli is like a poor man's Ahmad Brooks (without the offside penalties or first step).

Probably a 3rd and maybe a late round pick.

Pass rushers rarely fall though. There's no certainty he'll still be there. He fits the Cliff Avril mold and I think he's probably exactly what Lynch wants to compliment our Dline. He's a much better version of Marsh.

This defense thrives off of pressured QBs, we need pass rushers and I believe they'll trade down a few spots and grab Landry.

Smith arguably the BPA. It's not a certainty. What happens when Foster returns after 4 games, we bench Smith and eat his salary? Eli sits?

Roquan plays the weakside and the 49ers potentially have one of the best LB duo's in football? Malcolm Smith provides essential depth and they cut him after the season for minimal dead money.

Beyond on field performance, a guy like Smith brings a tremendous amount of leadership and a calm, confident demeanor.

I don't see the team reaching or drafting any projects that early so to me, from where we are right now its going to be Fitzpatrick, Roquan or Landry.
Dumb question - is there a TE in the 1st round that would intrigue us? Some 6 foot 5 stud that can get up and get jump balls in the red zone?

Landry is not going top 10.

I predict 4 QBs in the top 8 picks (I think the Bills move up to 4 and the Cardinals or Chargers move up as well), plus Barkley, Chubb and Nelson (his college OL coach is now the with Bears). Add in one wildcard (Davenport, Payne, Edmunds, Jackson, Vander Esch), which always happens in the top 10, and Fitzpatrick slides to 9.

I basically posted this in Fitzpatrick's thread, but (forgive my ignorance) do you think he's that much better than Landry, Smith or LVE that you would take him over those guys (who play positions of higher need)?

I guess we could get Fitzpatrick then go LB and Edge with our next couple picks..

I guess the bright side is I would be happy with any of those three and can see the argument for all of them

Sad with all the high picks on defense, it's still a below average group. [Fully aware of scheme change]
Roquan in the first, and Brian O'Neill in the second.

Niners are moving down. They are gonna take and edge rusher

If they want to draft an edge rusher they better not get too cute and draft one while they can get him.

It's like saying Team X is moving down. They are gonna take a QB.

Typically that's not a position you trade down to draft. High demand and infrequent availability outside of the draft.
I think we'll end up trading down.

He's my TE crush, but I wouldn't touch him before the 2nd.
