Who knows? FSU scheme didn't do him any favors, and maybe that knee brace hindered his athleticism. It sounds like he doesn't plan on using it moving forward.

Yeah there's a bunch of factors...everyone knew he was a athletic freak but it just didn't show up on tape.

Maybe a new coaching staff, football 24/7, and a better scheme could do wonders. Not gonna bet the farmer on it though

I agree with BigMac sweat's get off isn't great at all. I'm glad SF is doing their homework on the kid, he had a horrific knee injury...craxy upside no doubt, gonna need the doctors to check that s**t out and he's gonna need coaching imo.

You are making a different argument then he did.
Sweat seems to know how to use his arms to work the blocker.
However, his lower body seems more questionable. Not sure that he can bend, convert speed to power, or has a good motor.
My guess is he's kind of a poor man's Marcus Davenport. Some team will probably try to unlock the speed-to-power and have him take a straight line to the QB.

I think he can bend/flatten at an elite level. Just needs a better get off and more moves.

Sparq is a good tool, though I don't see how he's top without a 3 cone, which IMO is the most important.

However what's the point if it doesn't translate to the field? My man Jeff Holland put it best "the underwear Olympics? Nah, not for me I'm a football player".

Sweat might just be getting healthier now, but I have major concerns.

Look at Jordan Willis last year, great Sparq, went to the same team as Carl Lawson, average Sparq, one had 1 sack, the other 8.5

Converting speed to power shows up on tape. Bend is questionable. He needs to learn it. He has the flexibility to do so based on his testing, but it's not something in his toolset her.

6.88 to 6.95 at his pro day

I have zero concerns at 59. Would not like to move up for him though.
Where is he projected to be drafted?

Really, out of everything I've said you've chosen to add his 3 come time??

I don't care how he tests, it just doesn't show up on the field.

Was giving you his 3 cone time.

You are welcome to not care how he tests. Just don't say he's not an elite athlete because he is. I don't know if it will ever translate consistently but I'd be willing to take that chance at 59 all day long. Once you get out the top 50 EVERYONE is a big risk in some form or another.

I said he was trying to play like he was an elite athlete, but couldn't pull it off.

Don't worry it's not an attack, there are plenty of GM's who draft on potential and combine numbers.

They draft athletes in the hope they become good football players.

I'd rather draft good football players and hope they get by with their limited athleticism.

Example with Sweat, I'm sure he goes higher than Duke Eijofor and Jeff Holland, and I'm sure they'll have better careers.

Yeah I'd like to know also. Any of our resident expert Draft Philm guys have a notion where he can go? I would think that injury in High school would push him past the 3rd round. Usually rounds 1-4 are starters, and round 5-7 are developmental picks?

Day 2, some stupid team will see his combine numbers, his high school rating and think they can make him the football player he was supposed to be. Just hope it isn't us
Locked on Niners podcast mock today has Sweat @ pick 59

Seems like a good risk at that spot. But ideally I'm targeting a guard at that spot.. Possibly with a trade up.
