it was 6th in run D WHEN Brock Coyle became the starter. as in he knew the scheme and was more effective communicator/coordinator of the scheme....

By that logic the Browns had the #2 ranked run D....

He obviously was a big fan of Julio but was also instrumental in bringing in Sanu who I was a big fan of. Kittle came on but isn't the box-out, jump-ball type of RZ threat. John Lynch has been looking for that all year. And in the WCO, it's very important to have that ZWR to compliment the other core pieces. Rice, Taylor, Owens, etc. were some of the bigger WR's during that time as needed for quick slants and more.
But overall, I agree in that if we don't get that bigger bodied ZWR, Kyle will probably add another separator like this and make life hell for DB's between the 20's by spreading them out.
Thoughts?
Don't you think Jimmy Graham would be an ideal fit for a red zone weapon? Great ability to box out defenders.

More likely it was because Jimmy G started playing around the same time and our time in possession stats went from well in the negative to well in the positive, not to mention other teams were forced to pass it more in those games as we put them under scoreboard pressure.

The Browns will do what the Browns will do...that is, take yet another QB who may/may not pan out. I'm not nearly as high on Allen as some seem to be...that's ok, he'll have to show much more consistency making sound reads & decisions, then throwing the ball accurately to make a believer out of me. Personally, I think they should trade the #1 pick to get another opportunity to improve their roster in a meaningful way. Obviously they'd trade with a team not enamored with Allen, if he's the guy they really want. There's some risk involved trading down, but only if you don't make all your extra picks really count.
As for the Niners, I think they'll take either Fitzpatrick, Bradley Chubb or possibly Arden Key. It's always tempting to take a guy like Nelson, but since they've already transformed Garnett's body for Shanahan's offense, I'd say it's pretty unlikely they'd want to do it again with Nelson. The guy I like is Isaiah Wynn from GA...he's got the quickness in run and pass blocking, plus he's tough as nails. He's probably a 2nd rd pick, outside chance early 3rd rd.
